totally agree but would add that they are often egg eaters even when well fed so often a very thick bottom mop will hide the eggs from them I normally breed in small tanks that are 300 mm x 300 mm so I would put a mop (or several) so that they fill up 30 to 40 mm thick
  6. www.aquatic-photography.com word of warning though some of the shots will make you spend heaps of money on new camera gear and will have you disappointed with the fish we have here Moderators, If you think that by watching the above site, it may risk the financial stability of some members, please feel free to remove the address  "after reading some threads I will first go for a flash instead of a macro lens" Your standard 50mm lens is more than you need. Even the stock 55 that comes with your camera is fine. I still havnt bought my flash yet as I want the 580 mk11 and at the best part of $700, Im still having to convince myself that I really need it. I did reciently buy a kit of 27 filters which give some amazing effects I also have 3 small photo tanks that your welcome to borrow, only suitable for fish up to 75mm as the tanks are only 50mm from front to back (designed to hold the flash unit above)
  7. "True but of course not as much fun" my point exactly Good to see you joined the photography site Great shots eh
  8. and I could of & did ask in here to see what answers came up eh  I supose that really any forum is wasted as we can always google the question
  9. your over the top with the weight of the glass glass weighs 2.5kgs per square meter x the thickness .600 x 2.000 = 1.2(area) x 2.5kgs = 3kgs x 10mm thick = 30 kgs x 3 = 90kgs .600 x .600 = .36 (area) x 2.5kgs = .9kgs x 10mm thick = 9kgs x 2 = 18kgs 108kgs plus lid and bracing

  12. your last few paragraphs is why I am against KB plus it was started using my taxes to compete against the bank I was (and still am) with I was similar to the social welfare dept asking one of my largest customers to give some work to a person that they were teaching and helping to start up their own business in oppersition to me. Yea rite! I loose work to a company that Im paying taxes to help start up meaning that I have to sack some-one to go on unemployment Admittedly this was about 8 years ago and I would hope that social welfare has now had a rethink

    showing Killis

plenty of meaty food like frozen blood worm and live white worms will produce large fish with nice bodys Large fish become dominant and therefore show them selves off nicer than smaller fish
  14. just got of the phone with vodapone looks like they are doing something about it now Reloading the addresses apparently Thanks for offereing and if this dosnt work I will take you up on it Cheers
  15. Aquila, My address is barrie at mckoyglass.co.nz Problem is that I have them all directed through to my private email so I dont need to spend hours on all sorts of different sites We have 4 businesses with several email adresses. The voda phone phone number (when you push the tech number) says there is a problem I also agree about the ihug or xtra addresses (or others)but normally they have a name attached as part of the address. Problem is that often you get people (compeditors) simply trying to get your price lists so whereas they may well end up with them, you need to make it harder to get them. I also suppose that it has to do with the type of client you do work for, we dont target small one off customers and the retail market
  16. And how would that look like for my company Personally, I dont take seriously accounts like hotmail, yahoo and gmail when the user is asking for prices They never get my best prices... ever I am recieving mail but still cant send
  17. problems yet again today
  18. when I phoned yesterday an automated message said some were having problems sending and recieving. My wireless router at work is very up to date as I installed a new one about 2pm yesterday so cant be that It seems to effect just some users which was the same problem telecom had with their XT problems
  19. I have my email through ihug! in the last two months I have had outages on at least 10 days! Yesterdays started inbetween 7am and 11 am and was still out at 9pm last night! Im pleased they havnt knocked telecom about their XT outages
  20. I have sifted through the peat and found eggs when none were able to be seen (may also be my old eyes though) I take it you recieved my email?
  21. when you go through some of the shots, I simply dont know if I will ever be able to get as good as even the worst of them
  22. have a look at www.aquatic-photography.com as well Histro posts on a lot of forums and in my eyes is the top photographer of fish in the world The comp that he is part of the judging is going to be great (again) and we have a member of this forum that has got a very good chance of doing well For most of his photos he uses a Canon 350D with a 50mm lens I bought the same (except for the next camera up) hoping to get photos of the same quality but a lack of ability has me still trying
  23. problem with south American annuals is the the egg cover (the egg itself) is slightly sticky and is often hard to see as the peat will stick to it far more than African annuals
