not sure if this has anything to do with this thread, but I was in the mentioned franchise the other day in East Tamaki in auckland and they had a large Pacu swimming around in their large display tank with oscars etc....
might be coensidence
I cant remember where it was to but I got an invite through the herp society to do something similiar lately, just couldn't get the time off to go, would be an awesome thing to do by the look and sound of it

Sorry to hear that Mark, I know how gutted I was to lose my female ( still am ) but to have one stolen would be worse

your lucky finding them in the wild, seems to be a few being found at the moment, wonder why they are all popping up now or have they always been around?
terrence, to get a permit there is a small fee, you need to build an outside enclosure and get the all clear from doc
