hi guys, im just trying to figure out the cycle time of egg laying and hatching

lol almost every person on the reptile forum is a tortoise fan its just finding one thats the problem!!!

I personally would say bearded dragon out of the two you have mentioned, I keep a beardie and from what I have read on the forum and other sites w/dragons arent as friendly as well as growing bigger and needing a descent pond in their enclosure, there are many reptile keepers on the forum that keep both that would be able to compare better than me so hopefully they also reply. As for info beardies - the bearded dragon manual - is a great book and search google - there are heaps of sites also dont forget blue tongue skinks - easy to keep for your first reptile good luck and be careful - you can never stop at just one once you start!!!

nice set up the bromeliad will die now it has flowered but will send out more pups ( plants) just leave it there to multiply, they dont like wet feet, you water them in the vase (top)

the animals dont suffer, more time is spent cleaning, water changes etc I know where you guys are coming from but sometimes you need to take baby steps before you start running. did you start marine keeping with top gear on your first tank?

you may come last... but at least your competing if I did everything the way I was "meant" to I wouldn't have half of what I keep.

I am not really sure where some people are coming from when it comes to marine setups, not everyone has the money to set up with gear like deltec for their first tank, sometimes you have to start with something that isn't perfect, I have been thinking of setting up my first tank for a while now and have been quite put off by some of the "advice being given" it seems sometimes more like a sales pitch where all other brands are useless apart from the one people just happen to use and sell. i'm sure that even if people get gear that isn't to flash if they manage to get coral to grow and fish to survive they will get the bug and the better gear will follow, better that than be scared off completely!!

even if it was only in zoos, it would mean we would still get to see more reptiles in the flesh, thats if the zoos bring anything in I think any different reptiles that are available for public viewing would get me travelling to which ever zoo has it!!

saw some today at a lfs called orange spotted bristlenose, can't find anything about them on google, any one know anything about them?

I am looking at getting a breeding pair of GBA's, what would they be worth? I was in a LFS in East Tamaki today and they had a large male GBA for $150.00 which I thought was a bit steep. Not sure if i'm just cheap or if they are worth that much

Hi I'm looking at setting up my first reef tank and have a couple of bits that I was hoping to use. I have a 4'x2'x2' tank and a ts2000 queen skimmer, I know the skimmer is a cheap one but if I set it up in a sump with infusion ( I think that is what is called) will it do an alright job till I can get a better one. Any help would be appreciated

just a question about the hybrids, if they cross breed in a tank then whats stopping them cross breeding in the wild?

I find tadpoles love spiralina flakes; keep the water really clean; if frogs havent absorbed their tails they wont eat as they are gaining what they need already
