  1. 2 days ago i isolated a female guppy, she had about 25 babies today, will the babies have the diesease too? or should i take them out of isolation (and into the tank with the disease) ? Also, can my gbas catch the disease? Can i safely move them into other tanks?
  2. I've found that there's a ferry that does a circle of the harbour, 1 and a half hours long, so i'll definitly be doing it!
  3. So far all the ones infected have died (2 females, 3 males) How long will it take before i know that the surviving fish aren't carrying it?
  4. wow so much to think about! Its just me going, don't have any kids
  5. Cool, thanks for those ideas! I went on this when i was last in auckland (2005) and was thinking that some ferry would be cool, so i can see auckland as a whole. Is there another ferry that would be better? Butterfly creek looks good! is the farm more for children? Ii'm not much of a museum person, so that cuts out quite a few places (but i've got to save time for shopping )
  6. I'm going to auckland for 4 days (not including travel) in November So far i know i'm going to : Kelly Tarltons The Zoo On a ferry (maybe to devonport) the sky tower Are there any petshops that are worth visiting? Or is there any other place i should go to that i haven't thought about?

    A few pics

Did you squirt it on the actual bba? i used a syringe and it worked
  8. I'm sad to hear this too, a couple of years ago i also patted and fed Kelly. It was an awesome experience! I think they'd be best to stay as a rehab facility, having behind the scenes tours. Cos i can't understand how the dolphins enjoy jumping out of the water for a crowd.
  9. Thanks for that jim r. I read on the website that columnaris can show by the fins wearing away. Does anyone know if that is columnaris if the fins are wearing away, but it has no white stuff? I've got a couple with their fins getting shorter. Should i isolate these too? (With the others i've already isolated?)
  10. She's still alive. And 3 others have it too So they're in isolation too
  11. I've isolated her, put the temp down, and put an air stone in her container. And i'm about to put some salt in. Would meth blue or white spot cure help at all?
  12. I had a look in my disease book and it didn't sya how to fix it at all :-?
  13. I googled columnaris and it looks similar It looks so faint in the pics but its quite obvious in real life! What should i do if its columnaris? (i'll go look at my books now tho)
  14. Ok, i'll go and fully separate her. How much salt should i add (for 1 litre) ? I've had a fish with dropsy before and its definitly not that, the scales are kinda sticking up but cos of the white stuff. I'll get my dad to try and take some pics with his good camera.
  15. I only use litter trays when they have surgery after kittenhood. But instead of using the kitten litter I get some dirt out of the garden (otherwise they wouldn't know what to do!) The last time my cats had to use their litter box I found out that he's too big for the one I had So i went out in search for a dog or XL cat litter box!
  16. I noticed this this morning. It seems like some white stuff incrusted under some scales. Its only in one area. Its the same fish in both pics (dunno why it came out pink :-? ) What could it be? So far, i've separated her, but she still shares the same water. What should I do? Her behaviour seems normal.
  17. Its starting tomorrow! My grandad, Leo Barnett, is a competitor So i'm hoping to see him on tv! Its on on mondays, Prime at 7.30 (it also repeats on fridays at 8.30)
  18. In the last few months my two cats (who are brothers) seem to be getting jealous of each other. They seem to be wanting me and my mum to only have 1 cat each and not pat the other one.. but its not aggressive yet. Maybe if you tried (as hard as it is) to ignore snowballs while Rufus is in the room and give rufus lots of attention, he might think he's the top cat and not feel left out.

    BN caves

I don't put any meth blue in (i have them in a container that shares water with the rest of the tank) But it prolly wouldn't hurt. An airstone is a must cos it fans the eggs. Has your male definitly left the cave?
  20. Those are interesting! I do hope that they end up looking either male or female and not like a cross :-?
  21. I've heard that too, but not specifically for guppys. Shes definitly not the dominant female tho, theres 4 full grown females in the tank... I'm hoping to get some more males.

    BN caves

my male never leaves the cave while he's got eggs. I try not to get any food near the cave so he's not tempted to leave Have you been putting food near the cave? That could be enticing him out
  23. I didn't buy this filter so i don't know much about it. All i know is its a shark (but i could be wrong) . Its in a 50 litre tank. Does anyone know if it would be ok with baby guppies? (meaning not sucking them up)
  24. I'd heard of it happening in swordtails, but i was a bit surprised to see that my female guppy now has a males gonopodium :-? There are about 50 females in the tank and only 2 males . Will she/he eventually look like a male? I managed to get a pic:

    BN caves

if he's still in the cave but not fanning it should be alright, but if he leaves the cave for an hour you'd need to look after them (with an airstone)
