yeah it would be- its getting down that end of the specrum. i just got a 10k for my reef and it is a really nice white, it goes well with my 14k which is quite a bit bluer

6500k is best for plants 2700k is warm white and isn't very good 10000k - 20000k is for reefers

sorry to hear that fishy... can everyone keep a look out on their lfs, friends tanks and everywhere else for another Tetraodon suvatii- i think mr. hanky was the only other in new zealand but i could be wrong. i'm willing to pay quite price for another. so keep your eyes peeled. cheers folks. sorry for stealing your thread fishy-t.

swords and val are ok but often grow emerged rather than submerged. it really depends on which amazon biotope you are going for: amazon oxbow lake biotope aquarium- dominated by bladderwort and floating plants like Eichhornia. also present are val and swords but not many amazon stream biotope aquarium- few plants. in unshaded areas val and swords grow but nothing really grows in the shaded areas.

yep. i used a hammer to break up some of those ceramic drain thingies to make shelters- plus $150 worth of fake plants the puffers can't uproot

you probably do not want more than one species of killi in a community tank because the females are almost indistinguishable. how about a massive swarm of neons (50-100 or so) i have always dreamed of having a neon tank!!!
