  1. dunno but i have had them and haven't done any harm to my fish
  2. no he wouldhave had them in differnt tanks methinks
  3. no! doesn't smell. only smell is all the mussels you will have to thaw from freezer to feed starfish and anemone
  4. remove any bristleworms which get biggish (about 1cm diameter) as they like to chew on corals. smaller ones help keep your tank clean

    Howdy folks

welcome to the forums acara. may i ask which species of acara you own?
  6. if you need any questions answered give me a pm.... if you want to keep a nz temperate marine tank good thing is you don't need expensive ligting, bad thing is you need expensive chilling. a 1/4 hp chiller would set you back $300-$800 depending on new or secondhand and where you go. the fish i would reccomend are yellow morays (if you can ge them!!!), sprats or an octupus. another idea is a tidal pool tank containing kina, sea anemones, crays, starfish, crabs, or small fish.
  7. wow lots of us here. i'm doing marine bio, environmental science and physical geography at auckland
  8. i think if you kept bumblebees then you would be best with green spotted puffers. They retail for $40 in the store and are the most common puffers seen in the stores. I haven't seenm some for a while though. there wasn't any in hff last time i was there 1 week ago but that could have changed... don't think so.
