Xenomystus nigri is the name i am thinking perhaps i saw one at HFF a couple of weeks back. can anyone confirm?

haha @ Alan. i hand feed my suvatii puffer worms and he normally spits little pieces out when he is chewing. i have a fluval 4 plus in his 3 ft tank and i do a good 30% waterchage plus syphon weekly

how long have you had it? was it an upgrade or first skimmer?

i have a pair of wcmm and just let them do their thing. i had quite a few babies about 1cm long. i made the mistake of putting a goldfish in the tank with the babies (when they were 1cm long) and now i only have 1 left! in the parents tank there are always little silver babies swimming rounf though

i'm not sure how much success you will have breeding dwarf puffers- they are really difficult to breed. by all means give it a go. hundreds of people on here are clamouring for dwarf puffers. i myself have a suvatii and am looking for a scond currently- as far as i am aware the suvatii has only been bred in captivity about 5x before.

synos and african knifes look good bet. perhaps a butterfly

you wouldn't want an elephantnose with a birchir. the birchir would drive it crazy i think. elephantnoses are best in species tanks or with discus etc i reakon

i dunno food cost etc but my costs for a 200l tank are abot $5-10 a week chems and food. i have 9 fish atm i think, and lots of stony corals

dude skimmers are not expensive and imo are one of the most important things for a tank. if its only 50L a small hob skimmer would do the trick. have you considered this? http://www.deepblueaquarium.co.nz/ReefKit.htm that comes with a small hob skimmer filter thingy, lighting etc perfect for a 50L 2 foot tank

don't know if the seaclone will skim enough for stony corals man. stonys require pristine water conditions. it will be fine for soft corals though. na the lights they sell at hardwar stores are generally halogen. you need to get the metal halide fittlings to run metal halide bulbs. see- http://www.deepblueaquarium.co.nz/lights.htm. the 150 watt would be what you are after i reakon. check out some of the tank specs under "MY TANK" on the FNZAS page to see what you are aiming for

um sorry dude you cant keep sps under T8. you will be able to keep lps and softies but minimum for sps is T5. most people would suggest metal halide though. what skimmer are you running?

get chromis' instead. blue greens are the ones most people have. they are really cheap and non agressive

yeah but that tank looks like it can be viewed from both sides layton. most of us have tanks against a wall.

funny you picked chimeras tank in particular. in his set of photos his tank is really clean. all i can see is coralline algae which is that pinky stuff which also grows on rocks. most people scrape it of the sides but like it growing on the back wall of the tank. corraline algae is more natural to look at than glass.

yep. there are a variety of products out there we use. selleys make aqua kneed-it, tunze makes something similat. as well as the concrete products lots of people use. they are usually more difficult than the putty ones

yep those are hansen fittings turtle owner. most of us reef keepers have them plumbed to our sumps

jo is tanking bout a HOB filter i think snookie- they don't have spray bars
