  1. 1. yes it will be stronf enough 2. yes i think so- rather than persplex you could use rocks to make it more natural, if you siliconed lots of slate rocks togeter to make lotsa small waterfalls that would look pretty cool imo. 3. i like the l shaped, if you are putting it in the corner of a room. if I was having it against a wall i would personally have 3 sides planted. (a c shape) 4. for growing mangroves i would reccomend growing them in plant pots with lots of holes in (those plastic ones are perfect.) you would probably be best running a 150watt metal halide with a 6500k bulb in for mangrove growth and of course you would need to wait until you have converted the tank to brakish.
  2. expensive puffer food milet. if i had mudskippers i'd have a species tank
  3. hmm looks awesome- even if i can't read what it says
  4. live crabs are messy puffer food- they will scatter them throughout the tank.
  5. mine took the whole day to find the anemone and then the anemone would walk off in the night so the clown had to do the same thing the next day 8) don't worry ben, he'll find that rose eventually!
  6. nice pics layton- i really like the last one! heres another one i really like
  7. yellow eyed mullets won't work i don't think coz they feed on about 1kg of silt per day feeding on micro-organisms etc and you would have trouble feeding thm enough to keep them happy. Whitebait wouldn't work coz the couldn't stand the temp.
  8. get a hydrometer to measure salt concentration. i would just put them in fresh water then add a bit of salt during weekly water changes (maybe a scoop every 10L or something for a few weeks until you have it where you want it)
  9. what with your clown?- it looks blue!

    ph problem

it will lower-raise the pH to the pH you want. most of the powdered ones are ok. i have previously used the seachem range with good results (both freshwater and marine)
  11. don't thing maf would let you have leopard gekos. in terms of dragons imo bearded dragons are the best as they show the most interaction with their owner. they are quite a bit dearer though.. they also don't need as big or as complex an enclosure

    ph problem

dude your tetra tank won't mind being 6.6 thats the natural pH of the rivers they come from. i wouldn't alter the ph in killie tank either but if you are conserned use a pH buffer rather than pHdown because a pH buffer will not decrease the pH by too much if you overdose. avoide getting buffers with phosphate as ingredients coz this will cause algae problems
  13. haha. graeme- the heater on out spa broke and i have been begging my parents to turn it into a tropical tank- it would be so awesome! but i don't think they would agree
  14. yeah what you feeding? usually caused by feeding food with high protein content 8)
  15. palmerston north, not hong kong. change your profile anyalife so you don't confuse people

  19. favites is just the genus name for closed brain though. most don't look mearly as impressive as the one in wasps tank, or the ones posted earlier in this post. the ones at hollyone when i was there last were completley green, have they got different colored ones now reef
