that is a cool Idea. I have always wanted to make a tank for blind cave tetra's which is like that but encompasses the whole tank except the front pane of glass

I think those terracotta pipes are good to use too. I smashed one up so it comes out on an angle from the gravel. My puffer likes to sit in it and watch people walk past the tank... like so:

I feed my puffer by the size of his belly and definatly not every day. Because my guy is a big boy and fully grown I only ever feed him once every 2 or 3 days. He will pig out on food and you will see his belly puff up with food. then a couple of days later he should be ready for feeding again... have you trained yours to handfeed? it makes it alot easier
