  1. gidday from a fellow reefkeeper
  2. am feeding dog biscuits- have higher protein than cat biscuits I think
  3. yes crickets even eat their own eggs. I put a grill across the top of the laying cups so the girls can put their ovipositors in but they can't eat the eggs!
  4. Probably Litoria ewingii (Sp?), Cam. Did it have round markings on the side of its head (ear-drums)
  5. now were just showing off  nice discus everyone!
  6. why would you want to? Crickets are a waste of time if you are breeding them to feed, except as variety. They take way longer than locusts to develop and don't reach the same size. As to your question, I am not sure wether it would be possible or not, it would be more difficult if it was though when replacing egg cups etc as crickets take longer to hatch than locusts.
  7. I don't get you. how did it get into the hydor flow? What pump is the hydor flo it running on? The hydor flo doesn't have an intake so the sixline must have gome through the pump to get into the flo surely?
  8. ... But BK, isn't economy a subset of society, which itself is a subset of the environment. Whatever you think about the Labour government, they have put more $$ into conservation (the environment) than any past government. Thus, if they are benefiting the environment and the economy is ultimately a subset of the environment, then surely their policies are benefiting the economy. People complain so much about this and that and worry about getting rich etc, but they fail to see the ecosystem services going on around us. The ecosystem goods and services provided by nature are over 2x the global GDP per annum....
  9. Its I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more, to be the man who walks 1000 miles... so you're both right haha. I should be in the singing bee!
  10. Kevan lives out by Maraetai and collects water from out there- would probably be much cleaner than at Takas...
  11. Dixon doesn't know how to count past 1 so I'll add his  I'm a lefty Lefty:2 Righty:2
  12. Yes I am involved in both Environmental Management and Conservation Ecology. I have spent a bit of time working at Little Barrier Island (A wildlife reserve which restricts public entry and homes Tutatara, Chevron Skinks as well as rare Birds and invertebrates), and there are lots of possibilites to do volunteer work, working with native reptiles in New Zealand, which has a very good community ethic when it comes to biodiversity conservation schemes. Just give me a PM if you want more details.
  13. Yes Blue this is the one I had for a while. I had organised to get Fishy-T's off him to attempt to reed them but it died the day before it was due to come up from wellington.
  14. I wouldn't. The puffer would attack it even if it is much bigger

  18. i'd say bout 100L would be fine if you have the tank cycled
  19. also, tank bred clowns do not associate as readily with anemones as wild caught clowns- they don't know what they are...
  20. depends on species. some are better than others. ones like allens damsels and to a lesser extent yellow tails are less aggro than others, but they will still nip at other fish... and your hands.
  21. is it just the photo or is he yellower as well?
