  1. I have a toshiba. Its great but the apostrophe, full-stop and Delete keys have crapped out. Though thats probably more because I am always eating and drinking around it, as I am on study break so I pretty much eat my breakfast and lunch in front of the computer screen while studying, and I probably spilled something on it.

  6. Am looking at getting a camera remote for my Canon 400D so I can do landscapes with my tripod. Was looking at trademe and they have Infra-red wireless remotes for $16 and wired ones for $18. 8. I love Kiwis, always have done... The reason why they cant fly (and Kakapo cant fly) is they have evolved in an ecosystem free of mammalian predators, and have adapted to a niche where flight was not necessary

  18. You clearly do not know the amount of money that goes into pest management in NZ... I think it is totally understandable that MaF and DoC err on the side of caution when it comes to introducting new animals into New Zealand. Under the Hasardours Substances and New Organisms Act you need Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) approval. "New Zealand now has a comprehensive regime in place to assess the impact of all ‘new organisms' before they are introduced. The role of [ERMA] is to decide if they represent a threat to the environment, or to public health and safety. The emphasis is on assessing the risks of introduction – and then weighing up the costs and benefits to the environment, the economy and society." I suppose that answers your question BK
