  1. oh sorry, thought the lime was in the tank. if you can see it settling mechanical filtration will likely remove a lot of it so the more filtration the better, stirring it up will help get it into the filter. What filter you running?
  2. that's a brilliant back ground
  3. i'd add carbon into the filter if i had some & do water changes to reduce the browning
  4. i just did WC's as normal, it took a couple or three days for the BBA to go red a start dying off.
  5. years i ago i used it, as directed to get rid of it and it works well. If your concerned about how much you need to dose due to your tank size drop a third or so of your water out while your treating.
  6. that is amazing. it must have taken so long to make the crank and cams, i can't imagine how long it took to design it.
  7. injured is scales & fins missing in the african world.
  8. why did you separate them? is she injured? if you separate them he will start all over again so i don't think it's a good idea at all. I would leave them to it, if you separate them i think it could get a lot worse when she returns. IMO it's best to leave it to them to sort it out, if one dies then so be it. Removing a fish for protection is delaying the inevitable i think, these are animals that have their own ways of sorting things out and that applies to male v male scraps to.
  9. she is obviously not doing what she's told. he is dominating her for an upcoming breeding i think, keep an eye on them.

  13. that's awesome, well done. you must be happy with it?
  14. is the prop spinning? i have one that the prop jams and needs to be moved before it will spin. i would pull the cover off and have a look, maybe something in the shaft stopping it.
  15. i have concrete tanks and it around 7 or a bit higher so no need to do anything.
  16. the one we got still had the bladder and a little colostrum in it.
  17. not specifically no, my old man bought one over the summer to cart water to the bach in and i did see one in an RD1 store out pukekohe way. i don't know what they are called but i googled your IBC and that's them

  19. RD1 has those big plastic tanks inside a galv steel frame, they are 1,000L and think are around $200. i think they are used to import colostrum into NZ for fonterra or something like that.
