  1. i have had bba and flourish got rid of it well, it turned red and died off. i've got the same stuff as you and as i said before i don't think it's bba you've got. i just use a dish scrubber to get rid of mine.
  2. i thought they called that "Bob Veal"? Isn't there a few different types of veal?
  3. they are one of the most peaceful of the mbunas but that is like the saying they are the nicest cage fighter of the group. They are mostly pretty good with other species of africans including smaller fish but can beat each other to death pretty easily. I never found them to be an issue with other africans but it can happen but that's a risk of mixing any types of fish.
  4. awesome! brilliant! i'm not bitter about that topic at all am i? I still have it though (Holden SS)
  5. next it will be "sell your V8 that you love so much so i can buy a people mover and cart around other peoples kids to" :dunno: she's way into cars?
  6. you'll need to delete all those plans in your head, you have a wedding to pay for  you have just entered into the "get used to loosing all the fun things you have" stage to prepare for a long and happy marriage
  7. i wouldn't if it didn't work the first time, might end up loosing some fish.
  8. i suppose i should have said births or something similar but i'm sure we get the idea that 1500 calves is a small percentage (3.3%) of calves born in NZ. Thinking about it i visited a farm of 1500 cows in rakaia so there's one platform that produces that many by itself.
  9. i have the same stuff and i don't think it's bba
  10. i bet it will taste alright, the ingredients are questionable. yeah that's true but that doesn't count for the calf abundance at the moment and i doubt that the farmers have started to slaughter them yet before a decision is made what the compo is. 1500 calves is nothing in the total amount of calves born in NZ, my uncle has a small to average size farm which milks 180 cows and every one of them have to have a calf to start to produce milk. So that works out to be a little over 8 farms of his size which there are actually more than 8 that size in his district let alone northland or the rest of the country. just did a search, in 2011 there were 4.5 million cows being milked in NZ so that means that many calves had to be born.
  11. it's calving season, calves are required to generate milk production in cows
  12. :slfg: if your going to comment on rubbish meat you need to try it first let us know what you think of them.
  13. so it aint corned beef in a can i have eaten both and there's a big difference.
  14. nah i don't think so, thought it was the waste from the meat works canned. it's mostly fat and scraps isn't it? corned beef is salt cured beef, solid chunk of meat.
  15. veal is calf, not old enough to be called cattle basically as i understand it. there aint much meat on a calf........
  16. we call that spam here don't they?? :sml1:
  17. i can't say i have had venison steaks, have had venison sausages but they probably aren't to like a steak. i enjoyed the goat more than the paradise ducks breasts i got on opening morning and they weren't bad again slow cooked with plenty of seasoning etc.
  18. so, what meats other than beef, chicken, lamb & pork do people eat, any game meat eaters here? the reason i ask is i shot some goats a few days ago and usually they are for dog food but decided to give a rear quarter to my wife to try to cook for dinner, slow cooked it with garlic, sage and a few other herbs and it was excellent. It was a little strong as the animals i got were young billies but i would certainly eat them again and will keep an eye out for nannies next time i'm out.
  19. so it could be any one of our auckland members then? :slfg:
  20. does your spraybar/outlet agitate the surface? that's a good way of getting plenty of oxygen into the water.
