it would all be melteca, if it were laminate it would be at least twice as much for the woodgrain imitation.

what are the materials? aren't they both melteca? if so generally all the different colours are usually the same price as its simply a coloured paper beneath the clear plastic layer.

i'm sure they already think its a bad idea but thats exactely the problem, if there were a car drivers forum the members could be as high as 1 million. 1 million people paying for a small % (10,000 people) of its members will have a low premium but 10,000 people paying for a high % (5000 people) of its members will have a high premium. its how many people that are contributing to the cost determines how much each person pays. if there were half as many people paying income tax then the govt would need to take more to cover the same costs of the population.

i don't think its a situation of good idea or not, its simply the total cost divided by the amount of people contributing. A high % of bikers are injured so the "each cost" is alot higher. A friend works at ACC & one thing we don't see in the figures is the amount of cost generated by deceased bikers.

The filter that they come with only runs 1000lph. i have twice that on a tank half the size so not sure if it will be enough. someone here may have some experience with them.

I am pretty sure they sell for over $2K retail, i know someone that has one for sale up here & i think it cost her $2.5K new about 18 months ago.

I like the idea of having a tank next to the bath, that would be great with africans in it. i don't know anything about the growths.

all good, i am not offended at all. discussion is healthy & this is only a forum on the net these situations IME tend to be more based on each persons ideal of what is right or wrong rather than an even unbiased decision on the single situation. I look at each situation & make a decision on the facts of that case. In this case that fish looks to be indentical to they 5 females i have in my tank so i am reasonably confident of it being of good breeding. If it looked different then i wouldn't have commented the same way. Others wil say "Its in a mixed tank so therfore it is a hybrid", condemning them without the facts or even giving it any serious condsideration.

you can make whatever assumtions you like, my opinion is that is what it is. If you want to be paranoid or negative about things, are there any pure fish in NZ at all & if you think this is or is not themn prove it either way. this is a topic that no one can really prove who is right or wrong & someone that wants to argue the point can for as long as they wish.

i don't think there is much doubt that the first one is a fryeri, the others are a lottery.

we used to have a cat door, it was a real pain as other cats came in & peed everywhere & eat the food. we don't have one now, the cats quickly learn if they aren't in when we go to bed they stay out.

i tend to think its more gravity or something that sets them off, my friends are always sucessful at fishing in the harbour when my fish are more active in my tank.

that is very interesting regarding the seasonal senses & breeding. i have had a lean winter when it comes to fry but as of the last 3 weeks i have females of every species i own holding.

i have tried several tims to have plants but they always get bashed. It doesn't appear taht the aficans actually eat them but they seem to just smash them up for something to do.

was this with africans? i ahve seen mine suck the fry through the netting of a basket so they may still be able to get at them if the crate isn't thick enough.

so has this actually been sorted yet?

all the plants i have ever tried in my african tanks were floating by the second day. they bent them over & dug them up, elplastico plants it is for me.
