  1. Oh yuck I can only imagine Alan :-? A friend of mine lives on a farm cottage and on two occasions her farmer landlord has found dead pigeons floating in the water tanks... that would make me want to check weekly :-?
  2. I have never heard "fryeri" called Electric Blue Peacock, only ever heard Royal Blue Peacock which is a Peacock species... if I heard Electric Blue Peacock I would think something is odd
  3. They look stunning Frenchy, awesome 8)
  4. Sciaenochromis fryeri is also commonly known as the "Electric Blue Hap" or just straight "Electric Blue" Here is a great link on them: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/s_fryeri.php
  5.  Yeah snookie the odd few are floating around Iraq  I have seen the Apache Whip, I am pretty sure there might be one in at hubbys work, very nice. Seem very placid and rather peaceful.
  6. The eggs I had meeshelley were inside little teracotta pots, so I would take the pot, and place in a bare bottom tank, same water etc, and I would run a air stone not far from the pot so there was a slight current and I would put a couple of drops of methyl blue in the tank, and all have hatched well in the past.
  7. Hey you don't have to say sorry for disagreeing with me over that Ants, we all have our own ways etc, me taking eggs in the past and raising them has worked for me, that is all, however, I didn't have my apistos in an apisto only tank so didn't want to risk the fry etc with other tank mates... if they had of been housed in their own tanks to breed then it may have been a totally different case, would have loved to watch them raise their own and hope for the best
  8. Hmm sorry I am still a bit stumped... Are you meaning from retail outlets? Prices will differ from store to store, whether the fish has been bought from the same suppliers, or depending what sort of markup each individual store puts on their goods or livestock... Sometimes if a fish is purchased from a breeder a shop will often put a lower price on a fish, however, in some cases this doesn't happen..
  9. Kribs are often kept in smaller fish community tanks, however, having a pair in there can mean trouble, depending on the fish themselves, but often they will protect their babies rather violently  The males are alot larger, she alot shorter in the body and has a plump fat crimson belly when showing breeding colours... He also has a pointed doral fin and has patterning on the top of his tail. (The male will also show red sides etc in breeding mode) http://www.aquatic-hobbyist.com/profiles/freshwater/cichlids/kribensis.html
