  1. lol dunno I gotta jig saw and a sander for 20 from there me and all my mates have got some good use out of it and it hasn't died so ive definately got my 20 out of it Dunno about the grinders im making an assumption that they're only 20 but im pretty sure they would be..

    blue zebra

my ice blues breed probably every 2-3 weeks with holding 2 weeks inbetween...
  3. lol go buy a $20 grinder from the warehouse if you use it once a year the 20 was still well spent..
  4. I would put some of the water in probably all of the water out of 2ft in the 4ft. Chuck the filter and heater and fish in, and then slowly fill the tank up... IMO theres no need to move the gravel and that there should be sufficient bacteria in your filter to handle the load that was in your 2ft just add new fish gradually so it can cope Thats what I do anyway I just leave a filter running on a stocked tank and then move it over with new water and chuck the fish in.. Or take half the media out of an existing tanks filter..
  5. Yeah id go with hacksaw too.. A bit thin/hard for tinsnips
  6. lol and yeah same here steve wont be taking many guppies platties or bristlenoses down the line with us either so let us know if you want anything.
  7. Yeah I feel for you man I hope you can rebuild and get what you had back
  8. jansens just off wairau rd has 1.. Im looking for some too but waiting for people to breed them
  9. If they are johanni they start off gold and the males go blue.. So either you have something else or a tank full of male johanni
  10. I could arrange a spare 4ft if you wanted it for a week or so it has fish in it at the moment so its cycled and its only a few that could be moved just let me know.. I would hate for you to loose anything in the move especially 15 tropheus.
  11. lol and to think my last weeks mission has been to take all my fry tanks down clean them all up and then mask them all from the sunlight with poly to stop the algae Just so they would be clean like everyone elses fry tanks! I used to just clean the front glass and do daily water changes but now ive got bristlenoses in every tank and got them clean as might have to let some light back in..
  12. I know a lady out my ways on here who brought a pair of blue Melanochromis and the female was blue she described them as johanni so thats what I presumed she had until she said the female was the same colour as a johanni male and was holding.. I also purchased a bunch of fish of someone and there was a random female that was also holding no male for it but it was also similair to a johanni male.. Unfortunately I lost that one so didn't get any pics. So there are similair things floating around my only concern is that people dont know what they are stick them in the same tank as "johanni" as to them they are "blue johanni" and then they all get muddled up or as frenchy has said maybe they're some other cross..
  13. Just found this interesting read http://www.cichlid-forum.com/phpBB/view ... p?t=126848
  14. You may get away with it but I would definately consider rehoming any babies or fish you dont need as those sorts of numbers even in a 5ft tank may go bad if not for fighting then for build up of waste etc.. Do you have any friends with spare tanks you can lend fish out to while you move?
  15. yeah id go with holding or hiding because they're scared of the male.. But they usually come out of hiding even for an instant to eat.. Let us know how you get on.. Have you tried having a look at night? How rocky is your tank?
  16. maybe: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/s ... php?id=756 What does everyone else think?
  17. just $1 reserve them and let the people on trademe decide what they're worth ive never been let down selling fish this way... Especially community ones.

    White spot

Yeah the dosage is correct it is alot of drops.. Remember to reduce the dosing rate if catfish are involved.. An easier way to do it is to count drops into a test tube with ml graduations work out how many drops per ml and then dose it by mls..
  22. id go for female cuz of the colour and roundness but then it does have alot of finage.. lol vent it
  23. mine all eat microworms and brine shrimp Make sure they're properlly developed and no egg sacks before you feed as well..
  24. awesome, have you got any pics of your ob or chilumba? Im wondering how your ob's are different from ours maybe worth getting some of yours as well This is our male Would love to see some pics of your mooloo to see how they differ apparently the colour on ob peacocks can vary greatly between lines..
  25. lol yeah I was asking the powers that be if it would be big enough for your tank presumably 3500lph is better than 2 x 1200 external's..
