  1. I had 2 males at one stage too really agro buggers couldn't find females and got sick of the agression so got rid of them..
  2. Most people get them off people they know, its not what you know its who you know, I haven't brought many of my good fish from shops.. Alot of them are on the lists and therefore shops but not for very long so its just luck if you get them or not, you can always try and get friendly with your local petshop (or in your case go see Ben at hutt pets he seems like a good sort) and ask him to let you know about anything flash and order it in for you..
  3. I dont think it becomes dangerous as dimebag has said as long as its stable and the fish are happy its sweet.. Alot of people get hung up on what people or books say "PH should be this" etc etc but as long as the fish are happy and its stable then it will be fine.. The only time you may need to play with PH levels is when attempting to breed fish as some fish will only breed in certain conditions.
  4. Thats not high at all as long as your fish look happy and its stable dont worry about it, mucking around with it will cause it to fluctuate and stress the fish more..
  5. Yeah I guess it was a female I had had the "pair" for ages and wondered why there was no action and a couple of weeks ago I got another bigger male thinking the smaller one wasn't upto it and now the smaller one which is obviously a female with blue and red on her is holding..

Small babies id probably have 40ish and bigger ones 30-40.. I do have power filters on there and alot of water changes..
  11. You can but the kribs will get a bit agro when breeding but your tanks pretty big so should be enough room for everyone

    Trial Tank

I use 2ft's as grow out tanks until fish are about 2-3cm's I guess so you should be alright if your wanting fish upto this size, I have some ice blues and red zebs at this size if your interested also.. Regarding temp most of my tanks are 25-27C, and the PH doesn't have to be above 7.5 I dont even measure PH I use all the buffering stuff in most my tanks but as long as the fish are happy and breeding I dont muck around with it too much they will adjust although I believe if you do try and get your water as close to "natural" they will be happier and do better I dont think its proven..

So sorry to hear about that man, if theres any fish I have here not that I have much in the way of the fish you want until my rams or cockatoo's breed let me know and ill help you out.. One of my many projects is to design a temperature controller that controls mulitple tanks and heaters and shuts them off when a set temp is reached etc but haven't got around it to yet..

    Ammonium

I have some of that.. If I go around killing all of them (theres quite a few and I thought they were cool) then wont they pollute the water?
