  1. You know that hornwort is naughty, bad, wicked and banned.
  2. Looks like the first one is Vallisneria spiralis and the last looks a bit like hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum)---is it very brittle and breaks easily? I think with the rest you are on the button.
  3. The willow root that grows into the water from willow trees beside a river is often used as well.

    Pop eye

I have never heard of that but it could be right. Epsom salt is used to draw out water from fish with dropsy but it very seldom works because it does't cure the problem that caused the dropsy. It may also increase body slime like salt.

    Pop eye

Popeye is usually caused by an infection with a gas producing bacteria that pushes the eye out and must be treated with an antibiotic. Furan 2 is probably the easiest to get hold of without a vet.
  6. Ryanjury is on to it. I found they went better if you put floats on the mops.
  7. I wouldn't think that pH6 be a problem for most tetras. What can be a problem is rapid changes of temperature, pH or hardness rather than the level itself.
  8. He is not the guy on the punt on the avon. He is an aquatic insect
  9. That shouldn't be a problem if you are talking ppm
  10. What diseases are you treating, and with what?
  11. Don't feed them for a couple of days then give them a small quantity. They have to get used to them. That is the advantage of feeding a good range of food when they are young. "Eat your spinach Johny"
  12. I have seen people with a light over a goldfish pond and a group of very enthusiastic goldfish underneath waitng for lunch (or late supper)
  13. Hope you and yours have a good one.
  14. They probably buy a million and get a good discount and don't have to quarantine them for 6-8 weeks. We buy ten and pay a premium for the ones that fell on the floor while preparing the order for the States.
  15. Must have missed a couple of letters there.

    Pond pH

Go raid the local oxydation ponds and put in a bucket full of daphnia.

    Pond pH

I could be wrong but I thought barley straw was to get rid of cyanobacter rather than green water.
  18. That is what happens when you can have any man eating pet you want and there is no quarantine. But could they spell brought? They only call them painted sliders because they can't spell red eared terrapin.
  19. I was actually drawing attention to the fact that your boatman or woman got eaten by your fish.
  20. It was the male making the noise?
  21. I feed mine on live brine shrimp nuplii and occasionally microworm and daphnia. I keep them in seperate containers where each lot are within a week to 10 days of the same age and completely change the water every 3 days. Then feed whiteworm, daphnia and bloodworms after about 2-2.5 months. They are pretty hardy once morphed. Keeping fire-bellied newts is a good and cheap book worth getting and is relevent to New Zealand.
