  1. You will need a cover to help keep the heat and live food in there
  2. Most men reckon they want sons but actually get spoiled rotten by their daughters. I had three girls but got the four boys in the next generation. At least then you can send them home when you have had enough.
  3. I spent five years doing the same shifts as Ira rotational 12 hours from 7 to 7 and one day off a month. And renovated a run down house in my spare time. That was when we got shift allowances, meal allowances penal rates and substantial production bonuses etc. I think my brain has developed a bit more since then and my priorities are different. Stay busy, try and live healthily and never forget that every hours sleep that you pinch is one you will never catch up on.
  4. Many moons ago some of the rural abatoirs were getting rid of their feathers to the by products people and they were chopping them up and puting them in stock food to increase the protein content. In that form it is unutilizable but I understand that it can be utilized if cooked by steam at high temperatures and pressures. The answer is probably yes.
  5. I tried a lot of places down here but could only get the wall mounted ones for lights. Ended up buying them off that guy along with his very good fly traps. I have heard people say they are not reliable but I have a couple that have been going well for over a year.
  6. If your setup is growing glosso alright a red sword like barthii at the back in the middle might look good. Just have to watch it doesn't shade too much glosso. The other red plant in that position might be Alternanthera reineckii roseafolia.
  7. Some fountains have copper sulphate added (blue) to prevent algae growth but highly toxic to fish at the sort of doses used. Had a problem here with a pub which emptied the water into the stormater system which went to the Avon river.
  8. Must be all those healthy bars as opposed to the ones down here by the Avon.
  9. I have had 12babies in a tank about that size but only for a while. When they are mature is the problem as they are normally solitary and only come together to fight or mate.
  10. Hemianthus umbrosum?
  11. Lots of live food helps to stop the loss of bits. Keeping the temperature down and having no places to play king of the castle helps to keep the agro down but I fear two or three males will want to scrap anyway after about 3 months. Only a guess on my part as I have not reared a bunch to that age.
  12. I can't think what they are called but they are frequently found in grease traps.
  13. One thing you can be sure of---It's all your fault.
  14. My guess would be that the P to N ratio is out. Generally algae is a problem when you have too much phosphate. On some sites they suggest adding nitrate but this could be that here we are pretty spoiled and the water is generally low in contaminants. Many of the water supplies in some countries have been through 6 animals and 10 people before you get it in your tap so it is carrying a lot of added stuff. The plants you have are not well established or using a lot of nutrient so your nutrient levels will be high. JENNIFERH YOU GOT IN FIRST
  15. You have to plant it in small clumps of 2/3 plants and have lots of time and patience
  16. I have built goldfish ponds with concrete and left it natural. You need to fill and empty them a few times and not rush putting your fish in. They will settle down after a while and be perfectly OK.
  17. Frogs will climb up the sides of any glass or plastic terrarium and escape very rapidly.
  18. First thing is to seperate the males before damage is done.
  19. It will not feed till its tail has been absorbed. Then if you can't mate with it you eat it.
  20. She looks like a boy and may be upset by your describing him as fa'afafine
  21. I would stay away from mealworm beatles as they bite. I fed some to my frogs and one got very stressed as it got bitten trying to swallow it so gave up after that. Any new food can be a challenge. Try no live food for a day then give mealworms in one of those containers they can't crawl out of but put it where they can see them moving. Mine took a while to go for them. They don't move much and beardies are movement stimulated.
  22. If someone wants an easy 100 bucks try growing it in a small shallow tank with 20mm of water and reflectors on the bulbs and located just above the water. He saw the writing.
