Caryl
Just checking to see if I can do this using drag and drop. This is a pic of the birthday cake I made, as requested, for my 4 year old neighbour. alexyay
Oh my gosh, that is super cute! It's been yonks since I've tried to use fondant, but my attempts have made me appreciate cakes decorated with it 100x more Caryl
Caryl
I would like to know how to stop it cracking, especially on curves!
livingart
From an engineering point of view (i know nothing about cake decoration) stretching the material around a curve may cause later crackingrelaxing it as much as possible may help or bondofill for crack repair afterwards
Shilo
I think only a 4yr old could take a knife to that cake. Anybody else would probably want to display it on a shelf! Caryl
Caryl
Keeping stretching to a minimum certainly helps but is not enough. You can run a wet finger over it gently and it will remove some of the cracking. I am sure there is a trick to it that the professionals know.William's mother had no trouble cutting it in half. William was more upset that there were no candles on it! His mum removed 4 hairs, put the candles in, then removed the candles and put the hair back

boban_nz
I'm using Firefox, it doesn't work as it should. IE and Safari (ipad) are absolutely fine. It looks like a bug and I still can't see image. screenshot:
Jaide
Where do you create signatures? Round avatars a a bit difficult to deal with. Edited October 24, 2015 by Jaide
livingart
In your profile
Jaide
I have activity feed, status feed and something called core_pfield13. No signature area that I can see. Would like to add: that obviously I did check profile and settings etc. before posting here in the first place so your reply is unhelpful. Caryl
I suspect LA answered without actually looking as that is where you added your sig in the last forum so he assumed it was the same here. This one does not seem to have a sig field and, from scrolling through looking, I can't find anyone with a sig attached.I know I used to have one on the old forum but it has disappeared from this one. I hadn't noticed until you asked and I suspect LA is the same!

livingart
Do you have, view others signatures, turned on in your account settings?
Caryl
I can now see signatures I could not see before, although I haven't changed anything, but they are not displaying correctly. Caryl
Fixed mine I must say I often find it difficult to work out where one post ends and another starts, especially when scrolling through looking for something in particular. Is there a way to make each post more defined?
livingart
Because of the theme we have chosen i can't see a way of changing it srry
Caryl
Pity. For those of us whose eyesight is going, it makes it harder to read. Never mind, I am sure I will cope
