Zev
Stunning stuff... The petals look quite soft and papery - thought they would be shiny and waxy like water lillies. Have you worked out if it is self pollinating, or do you have to have two to do the deed?
phoenix44
actually.. good point. check to see if the flower has an gynaecium and an androseum (spelling???). female and male bits.
oeminx
Although there is a lot of conflicting reports on them but what i have got them so far are, 1st night male bits, 2nd night female, 3rd night male So collect pollen on the 1st night with a cotton bud, then on the 2nd night go back with the same cotton bud. But this could be completely wrong but i figure if i go back each night with the same cotton bub and make like a bee its got to work. The scent is very nice although not very strong. Zabman
stunning photo(s) mate! I had a flower bud at the base of my tiger lotus, but it didnt grow towards the surface & eventually died. I'm still trying to work out what went wrong
oeminx
apparently it can take a couple of steams b4 the make it to the surface, guess I'm was just luck that my first one made it.

oeminx
The flower is dyeing off and reseeding into the water, but I have just found a new bud at the base of the plant. I must be doing something right.

supasi
Far too cold to grow tropical plants outside now. Even my glosso and Ludwigia are slowing right down with the cold overnight temps
fishbreeder
so they reseed back into the water. that is pretty cool. any idea how many seeds?
