Cool idea Travis and this could tie in well with many different scientific fields. i don't think you have to limit yourself into thinking that you have to come up with some sort of far left field ideas either. Some times its a great idea to focus on some thing that is commonly known and try to show why it is, or perhaps that it isn't actually true at all. Show good scientific practice, good observation, and that you tried your best. Some ideas Improving water quality -showing how a filter works -make your own model, show possible improvements... Explain behaviour of fish (Pavlov) -use fish to prove they have a longer memory than commonly perceived Evaluate how cleaver different types of fish are at cracking some sort of puzzle to have access to their food, use the same trap on different types of fish to observe if any of them are smarter than others Conduct your own investigation of the genetics of a type of fish (guppies tails) to show how common traits emerge through bloodlines, or hypothesis has to from where of off shoot is if they produce any throwbacks Good idea to display and photograph your fish ideas extensively, take many photos through out the process, you can always delete any you dont need after the project.

i have breed these guys and had some different names thrown at them. i have a fair idea of what they are called but also appreciate the fact there are people on here who are an authority on matters such as this.

i know that bikini? i have to say when i was a young fellah seeing your sister in that bikini was something i will never forget . i wasnt totally lusting after her . but she was like the hottest girl around. dont think much of her now, i have to say she has aged terribly, but if your going to live that sort of lifestyle then your going to wear the consequences.

i might do a little more research, at the vets tomorrow around the life cycle of worms and if this product decays.

you've just swayed me, i was apprehensive about putting more stress on already stressed out fish but a 24 hour window is pretty easy to cope with. It is pretty quiet around here isn't it? Perhaps not many have had the pleasure of these blood sucking mites.

I see a lot of credit to what your saying, and it is not too difficult to temporarily house these fish for the time being. However how long will these fish have to stay out of the tank? Until they are fully wormed? (4-5 days) or until the larval stage of the parasite has starved in the main tank?

Ok got the Aviverm. About to treat 220ltrs so 1 and a half millilires? Might have to take a swig myself - couldn't really hurt...

Sorry to drag up this thread but had three deaths in my tank, which has just come clear after being cloudy for a couple of weeks, upon closer inspection the fish all have redness around the anus and one had 5-6 of the above mentioned red worms coming out of the fish. Very Yucky!!! I inspected the remaining livestock and most fish look stressed and a number seem to show signs of these worms. Any help please will be much appreciated. Is Aviverm the right stuff to use in this instance? Mark -have you found any of the above products locally? Could you suggest where about to pick this product up?
