    Fleas....

i do it by turning off the air pumps then just glad wrap the top of the tanks and leave the wrap there for 2 hr or so after you start venting the home. No losses using this method yet.

  8. +1, the HPM ones are the ones this sparky uses And I strongly agree with this, Surge protection for fish tank equipment waste of time.

  10. You should have gone with the full live gator, wouldn't that be more fun
  11. http://www.killi.co.uk/breeding.php Try reading that a few pics there also. will probably help a bit. and here is a pic of a couple of eggs.
  12. Well I'm not sure on albinos but I could do a trio or to of Aphyosemion Bitaeniatum or Aphyosemion australe. Yes they will breed in a 40lt tank its what I used. Breeding them is fairly simple, they will lay around 5-10 eggs a day, except on weekends  . They will lay in javamoss, plant roots or a mop made of wool. then you just have to remove the eggs and place in a small container of water. once the eggs hatch in 10-14 days feed them micro worms or BBS and your away. Don't think I missed anything.
  13. I have a 3x150 metal halide fittings ad ballasts. i bet they will throw out enough light for ya.
  14. I doubt that the contacts in the heater are arcing they normally fall open. Quick question, other then the flicker does the heater operation seem normal?
  15. Making the assumptions that your heater has a neon indicator bulb (Orange glow to it). And that you can't Hear the thermostat clicking on and off with this flicker. No I don't think you have to worry. It is normal for these lamps to have a irregular flicker to them, as they are effected by visible light, radio active sources, cosmic rays......bah bah bah. As for the lights effecting them, a couple of things I can think of at the moment are. The voltage change for the lights is effecting the indicator, normally this would have the opposite effect to the one you describe tho. Or your eyes are playing tricks on you , so when the lights are on the illusion that it is not flickering is created.
  16. Another WBHS guy aye. BTB    been out of there for a couple of years now.
  17. yep definitely hydra on the glass, I for be careful about introducing them into a tank with little fry.

  19. weather it has benefits or not i don't know, never used it myself even though i have ready access to it. You friendly with anyone with welding gear?
  20. Hmmmm not sure of the selection of silicon I just talked to our resident glazier and he sorted me out.
  21. well after having to re-silicone a tank that was full and the associated emptying temp re-homing of fish I would suggest that if you have any suspensions of the silicone's integrity redo it now while it is empty.
  22. just another idea but not sure on the cost. You could get a another back sheet of glass made that has the hole cut in it. Then just take one off and put the other on.
  23. How we do it is put on a nice lose pair of overalls get a jar half full with petrol for each entrance/exit, then plug them up. The fumes are what kills them so no need for fire.
  24. I have used Courier post b4 and have not had a problem with them.
