I was ready to think that maybe the ammonia was high till you said that tested ok. Darn, just before I was reading somewhere, can't remember where though, and it did recommend goldfish have a higher pH. So, might be something at least to look into if all else fails. Keep us updated...I'm still so proud of those little ones Caper
  2. It is, after the stress, you sit and watch your fishies and the stress goes away 8) If you have a test kit especially for ammonia you might want to keep on eye on that and if you see ammonia registering just do water changes to get it down. If power is out for sometime you might want to take the filter media and give it a swish around in some water that you've removed from the tank, ah say into a bucket that you use just for the fishies. Do a search and you'll see how others have handled power outages. But it sounds as if your fishies faired off pretty well just keep on eye out on the ammonia. Caper
  3. Hi & welcome!  Addictive, nah you just have MTS (mulitiple tank syndrome), okay so it IS a disease so to speak and has no cure    Post some pics of your addiction, ahem, I mean fishies :bounce: Take care & have fun, Caper
  4. Aquatopia quoted: What toxins? For the chlorine and such, wouldn't the chlorine remove take care of those things? I have hang on the back filters and the cartridges come with the carbon in them. A question for those who have used carbon and then stopped, could you see a difference in your tanks? Caper

  10. I just watched the video AWESOME Few questions though: 1) Do you have a mixture of real and fake plants? 2) What is the plant floating on top? Does it move with the current? Do you have it there to cut down on the light? Does it interfer with feeding? 3) What substrate? 4) Did you buy or go to beach to get the awesome driftwood? Caper

  21. Ok, Sam is doing the sitting on the bottom again. Any suggestions?? I just did a water change Tuesday. I don't get it, it isn't something he does all the time but I just can't figure out why. Beauty is just fine, it is just Sam doing this. Hmm, just read this in another thread posted by Phoenix: I wonder if it's possible that Sam is eating too many peas??? I can't honestly say if the sitting thing happens after "pea feeding day". Caper
