Now that I've lost Cheech...is Chong going to be ok alone. Should I get another pleco? Is one enough? Will he survive as the only plceo?

Ouch How come you have to put your hand in? Is it only if your adding something? :oops: I thought saltwater tanks with all the "things" that you have to do with them skimmers, refuge thingys...that you didn't have to go "in" the tanks? Sorry...only drool over these tanks...but don't know anything about them other than what I read here...and most of it is like reading another language

Your right Snowman...they don't have wood in them...I read everything and the word "wood" is not mentioned. I'm taking a run out to the pet store later this afternoon...don't know if they have any it's only a small store. I tried the aglae wafer again this morning and my pleco (and others) are eating it. I am understanding correctly...if I have a piece of driftwood in the tank...that together with the algae should be enough to keep my pleco healthy and happy???? It wouldn't have to be big would it? The closest beach...don't know if it would be safe to get any there?????...the beach was closed down all summer because of contamination...would boiling it like I've seen here take out any contaminants?

Yep...I agree. Too many fish...too soon...especially in a new tank...not a good mixture. But, I've made that mistake with my 2nd tank :-? :-? Water changes...tests...good start! And if your fish get too big for the tank...ah, great excuse for the beginning of MTS

Yes the other pleco seems to be fine...so far...growing...& when he's on the front of tank...his belly looks "fat"...definetly didn't look like poor Cheech's What I have is "Wardley Algae Discs"...I tried that the other day...but they weren't interested in them either...had them since I got my ottos...they may not be fresh anymore (the zip lock closure wasn't closed completely). I don't see in the ingredients anything about wood...would it actually be called "wood"???

Hi Debbie & Lance I'd be lost withouth this site...the people are wonderful here. I have 2 ottos...Oscar & Felix...they are great little guys. I have them in my 10 gallon with goldfish and they keep it really clean. Have fun & nice to meet you Caper Almost forgot...post pics sometime of your tank & pond...30 goldfish...WOW!

You need a "reason"...yes sir, tank broke, water all over floor IT BROKE DUH!!!!! Why...gee, just tell them you felt like making a mess and took a sledge hammer to it :evil: That's as bad as when my brother lost his leg years ago...I forget who it was he was seeing...but they asked for proof that he lost his leg. Come on now, I know its all about paper work...but sometimes...really. He wasn't a magician they could "see"...one leg only!

Thanks all I left in the water for 12 hours like recommended...but got up in the morning & it wasn't touched. Do you think I should try it once in awhile??? My pleco died Tried to get a pic of him...maybe you can't tell in the pic...but I think that mayabe he wasn't eating enough...really thin...at least he looked it to me...then he got really pale (pale looking when in the tank). Couldn't get a clear pic at all of the top of him, bottom is all I could get. Any ideas???

Anthony...lead???? I think I asked that question before but don't remember where :-? Lead isn't bad for a tank? Can you use the lead sinkers that are used for fishing? I see my plecos in the day and evening...but will they only go for the veg when the lights are out????

OK...put some zucchini in tank, worried about about Cheech so I'm hoping this well help. I don't plan on doing this on a regular basis, want them to eat the algae! :oops: I took 2 pieces and stuck them on a plastic fork & put a stone on them to hold it down. Wok, didn't know what you meant by using a spoon till I found a pic on the net with spoon handle stuck through it...duh :-? Is using the plastic ok? The zucchini isn't on the gravel...ah...sticking up, doesn't matter does it??? I know :-? :-? questions :oops:

Yep Suphew it is...but I don't feed these guys peas only my goldfish and...knocks on wood...their tank is always clear (except after a vacuum or a rearrange). Did you happen to see the pics I posted hoping you folks will see what I mean I thought it was necessary to feed the plecos vegies. Plus, I'm concerned about Cheech who looks thin and not growing like Chong.
