  1. My laptop has a SD slot, but the cards in the Canon are so much bigger so its no use anyway. We just use the cable and employ some patience, 20 mins isnt that bad
  2. Down here in lil ole New Zealand we don't get a lot of the stuff that people have access to overseas That means we miss out on some cool plants, like HC. Or some cool fish and other creatures (like amano shrimp). Also a lot of the cool equipment, unless we want to order it in from overseas. That aside, there are some fantastic tanks here that are up there with the top tanks overseas
  3. Awww look at you down in Happy Valley Darn this thread, I want to go to the Mountain now (if it had snow...)
  4. lmao at the coincidence  I am investigating setting up my own nano tank with my 10 gallon, and have been reading lots of threads on the planted tank forums. Funny thing is, I saved a thread with some cool nano photos on it, and they were your tanks! I remember people commenting on your little bonsai there Anyway, they are very cool
  5. Another snowboarder here Good luck to Ruapehu opening on the 14th! lmao. Needs a few more good snow dumps up there before I'm putting my board to snow. Rockhopping isn't fun lol. I just hope I can get up there between my rosters. Can't skip lectures like I used to *sigh*
  6. Only just found this thread, but wow, thats one gorgeous gold ram. Heres hoping you can raise some fry! Did you get him as a longfin or was it just a coincidence?
  7. You may jest, but as a kid a friend of mine had samoyeds. Her parents gave my Mum 2 huge shopping bags full of white fluff, which mum combined with wool and made me a jersey out of! Was gorgeous and soft and had a layer of fuzz about half an inch long sticking out of the whole jersey
  8. Doesn't look that big in that photo! Not that I don't believe you, just saying a 360 litre tube would be awesome. Do you have a photo with someone standing next to it? Is it custom made?
  9. Jeez theres some cool tanks out there. MTS is hitting me hard, I can't wait for the day I can get a nice big fat 5 footer. Or 3... kiwiplymouth, love your tube tank. How many litres is it? I have a little one (35 litre) on my desk.

    Angelfish

They might not be anglefish, but they are Angelfish, which is what I assume poster 1 meant to say I think they might be Koi Angels?
  11. Eh, generally if someone is interested they'll check it out regardless, but have edited anyway I hope it finds a good home
  12. Offering it on the Pets and Animals board of trademe. So, no, its not an auction or anything, just a messageboard post. Apparently down in Invercargill. A male that they want to go to an established tank. Thought someone on here might jump at the opportunity 8)
  13. Oooo some cool tanks on here, keep em coming And to answer your question Casper, I like my live plants. I like my tanks with as little non-natural stuff as possible. I even resent the heater and thermometers presence
  14. Yes, she mentioned a couple of times they have majorly downsized in number Cool tank too, whats in it evil? Also wanted to ask, what kind of sword is that? The one directly behind the krib in your photo
  15. Wow Mystic! I knew you had a few tanks, but... wow How long does maintenance take each week?? I especially love all the planted aro tanks. Didn't see the appeal of aro's, as I'd only ever seen them in bare tanks, but they look wicked in your guys.
  16. Was sold to me as a 180 Litre, but by my measurements, if completely filled up, its 170L 8)
  17. Cool wee cube! Got enough plants? Can't wait to see your 300L once its setup too And cheers mystic (but wheres your photos?? )
  18. I remember a thread ages ago that had people posting their full tank photos on it, and it was cool to look through them all in one thread. So heres another one for May 2008 I'll start off (got a new camera yesterday! mwahaha): 170 litre, home to 3 GBAs, 1 normal BN, a pair of blue rams, 10 Rummynoses and 12 cardinals Plants are slowing filling in the back Anyone else out there with recent photos? :bounce:
  19. hahaha, confusing names. Long days = no brain matter left for other thought. It is malachite green, and it says 20g/l on the bottle. So is it usual for the tank to be clear again after a day?
  20. Sorry, didn't see your reply, and I am at uni now so can't answer the question, but will when I get home and can check. Put methylene blue in on Sunday night. Tank didn't look blue at all on Monday morning though... should it?? And no, I don't have carbon in my filter
  21. Thanks!! Just done a small water change, and turned the heater up. So will watch temp rise and add some meds later on, once the fish have settled from me poking around in there lol. Fingers crossed spots will get less instead of increasing. At the moment, theres only 3-5 spots on the neon and cardinal. Maybe a spot or 2 on 1 or 2 of the other cardinals, its hard to tell. Still swimming around and eating, but I've noticed that one cardinal hangs at the back when I am not there (swims right out hoping for food once I am there tho haha)
  22. Cheers for the comments Don't have any visible silicone anyway, so not too much of a problem I know I need to treat every 3 days, continuing after visible spots are gone. Should I do a partial water change before each treatment, or do I just add more malachite green??
  23. Bought some malachite green and formalin (2 seperate bottles) ages ago, as a 'just in case' I ever needed it. Seems like I need to use some, as one of my neons and one of my cardinals each have a few white spots on them. So will be doing a water change later on today, turning the temp up and treating the tank. Just wanted to confirm dose rates though! My malachite green says 1 drop per litre of tank water. However, when I bought it, the lfs guy (knowledgable one) wrote 1mL per 20L on the bottle as a dose rate. Which should I use? Been scouring over old threads and things trying to find a dose rate but couldn't, so wanted to ask Tis a 170 litre tank, with cardinals, rummynoses, neons, rams, bristlenoses and a whiptail. Should I try just the malachite green or both the malachite green and formalin? Just scared of them being toxic to my fish :-?

    My biube!!!

LMAO, aquascaping abilities?? It went something like this: ok, the driftwood is bigger than I thought. Hey, if I stand it up like this, it hides most of the heater. Spare java fern, tied to end of driftwood, kind of wonky, oh well, I hate tying stuff to driftwood, it can stay there. Now, I have lots of ambulia, lets stuff that in at the back. And wow, theres still indian fern in my old tank (pulled it out a year ago haha) so lets push that in the front. Ta da! biube Need to go find another lightbulb for the top tho. Must have jiggled this one or something coz it didn't work and one of the bulb prongy thingies is broken (says bf). And yes, he approves lol. Hence he keeps hassling me to go out and buy a proper bulb Am tempted to get some little swift rasboras in there with my guppies. The orange would look so cool with the blue...
