We are on "LevelPay" with Meridian (takes your power usage for a year and averages it out to weekly payments for the next year.) Our payments were $52 per week and have just gone up to about $80 a week This is the contraption. http://www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/479cf73401077acc273fc0a87f3306ab/Product/View/M7319

  18. Welcome Owen You may rest assured that you are not the only one with this condition. There is even a name for it : Multiple Tank Syndrome or M.T.S for short. There is NO cure. this is a good thing or a bad thing......depends on how you look at it
  19. Most myth-surrounded spider in New Zealand more likely from what i have learnt. Link to wikipedia page about the 'daddy long legs spider' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daddy_long-legs_spider Link to the wiki page about the Harvestman (also known as 'daddy long legs') http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvestman I think they are harvestmen on that ceiling in the photo but i have trouble looking at the picture to really tell for sure.
  20. i make sure the box making people get their payslips and bills.
  21. from what i have noticed in all my experience so far, if an egg goes cloudy, white or yellowish and not the clear, clean looking colour then they have fungused/infertile/dead. i think it is usually pretty quick for infertile eggs to turn white. As soon as an egg is fertilised it is a chemical reaction like boom of cellular activity. Everything happens darn quicky in there. The egg that is not lucky enough to be fertilised is stagnant. it will do nothing so the comparison should be noticeable fairly early. I would think that after 15-16 hours the eggs that look clear and healthy are definitely good and fertile.
  22. planaria taste really yucky. well at least that is what my baby bettas told me. Little 1cm long baby bettas, silly little things were swimming round nibbling at anything and everything including the planaria in their tank. I was in total hysterics watching the wee brats picking away at a worm and then jerking and shaking at the taste. They were persistant though and kept trying till the worm dislodged from the side of the tank and then they ate it and really threw a spaz! There was no mistaking their body language those worms must taste BAD! I don't think fish would eat them generally. Bettas are just strange. On the planaria eating fry thing, I have lost an entire spawn of free swimming severum fry to planaria over night and not a small spawn either! I discovered the only fry that are safe from planaria are ones that stay active and do not rest over night. Cichlid fry tend to curl up for the night on the floor of the tank unlike say danio fry which constantly swim near the surface. It is when baby fish are on the bottom or sides of the tank that planaria will get them.
  23. LOL!! sometimes i wonder the same thing!!
  24. Someone suggested if there were no other offers that it should be at our place and that works for me i guess. still not too late for anyone to out their hand up tho
  25. aww sorry Misty! we thought about having a meeting for January but decided that with the "first Saturday of each month" being a bit close to new years and during the holidays there might not have been many of us round for a meeting. And those who are around might not have been in the right state to come to a fish club meeting (probably an AA meeting would be better). Also it is nice to have a little bit of a break I'll bet we will all be at Februarys meeting with bells on!! Saturday 2nd of Feb Put it on ya calendar!!!
