  3. haha im hoping that Hikari would! pet ware! calling petware!! no, no spirulina sponsorship. I am unsure of what the development is like compared to others, but i will post on a thread on arofantatics.com now, calling for photos of 15 month old red aros
  4. want the hermits that get huge, that are more terristrial than under water, dont know much bout them but saw them forsale in australia and asia. you can get them replacement shells as they get bigger lol hikari actually makes hermit crab food as its so popular overseas!
  5. haha, yeah, its crazy what you can buy overseas! in thailand, man i was drooling hard! felt sad we couldnt get some crazy stuff lol
  6. hermit crabs would be awesome to have!
  7. yeah agreed completely some would tan for so long, 24/7 - just not willing to put that sort of stress on the fish! some even tan when its tiny though the tanning process itself shouldnt and doesnt harm the fish as it is just m imicking sunlight in an outdoor pond but doing it all day with no night time at all is crazy
  8. dunno essentially, it just gives more 'sunlight' into the tank, directly in to the water. time will tell, see how it goes. im building up from 4 hours, after 1 week, ill put up 1 to 2 hours every wek untill it reaches full cycle of 'lights on' and the tanning light is on all day. i wont do 24/7 like some keeper sin asia do, i think this may stress the fish. they need 'night' im sure.
  9. AHh, i think this is in asia! can see the reflection on the glass, does not look like its in NZ Tricked me!! got me excited:D
  10. armoured, never thought of it that way lol one day i hope to post an aro comm:D

  12. one day:D when i get back from overseas, then i will do a 3600 litre monster com sick thing is, i already have the filtration sussed in my head!!! lol even tank layout:D and what stuff i will hve in it! not to mention stocking
  13. Yeah, he has grown a lot, and getting thick! Colour is definitealy developing, it has developed massively in the last couple months and almost day to day the scales are getting lighter rims and sprawling orange to the scale base. Curious what the tanning does, if all accounts overseas are true, tanning should make a mighty difference!! after 6 months, i will replace the bulb and move into a proper reptile sun lamp, 10% uvb. excited!! i got the last of the 4 foot underwater tanning lights. its on the website. its made specifically for aros apparently but i believe its just a reptile style bulb with different colouration. https://www.arcadia-uk.info/product.php?pid=77&mid=10&lan=en⊂=&id=4 it actually is in the water in a waterproof casing. and this is the bulb https://www.arcadia-uk.info/product.php?pid=76&mid=10&lan=en⊂=&id=4 specs on on this site

  17. looking to make or buy a rotating spray bar, the self propelled ones, i mean i know how to make the spray bar itself, holes opposing each other would spin the thing like a water sprinkler thats easy - but how do you attach it to the feed and spin freely? wherre can you get such a joint also, making it higher output, possible?
  18. yeah would be cool, chiller needed though, but yeah, i reckon that would be cool!
