  1. I've ALWAYS got that problem Wok
  2. Hi The danios will eat there own eggs as quick as they can scatter them unless there stopped, try making the tank bare bottomed and having the adults in a breeding basket, Home make ones from netting or bought ones work well ) This always works for me and i have a high baby count whenever i try this, Snails are a possablity but with danios at least you would have to have a heck of a lot of snals as they can drop 100's of eggs per female.
  3. glad you ladies are all happy
  4. taking into account what size they will grow too i'd say 6-8 no problem
  5. not a problem there great community fish and the betta is not fast enough to catch them
  6. this was done with a small group of 6 , 3 male 3 females in a homemade breeding basket and left for two days then removed before they could get to eggs are newly hatched fry

  21. Hi Everyone, I get a real buzz from breeding fish , all kinds for all differant reasons, whats the most interesting fish you have bred and why ? I think mine was GBA's , because it was very uncommon down in Wellington to breed them and it was one of the first fish i bred that i set up a tank all there own with breeding in mind. BTW there still breeding stongly with a new batch hatching this week
  22. Hi, I got a fantastic surprise yesterday , my Koi swordtails have been dropping over the past two days and so far i must have fished out about 75+ babies but the hugh bonus was that 3 of them are albino . I wanted sme Albinos but all i'd seen were either too expensive, i could not afford at the time of on trademe would not ship so I'm over the moon !. I'll seperate them from the others as they grow a bit and hipe i have male and female ( or one might change to give me a breeding pair, just can't wait !! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  23. they are all pretty small fish and as a rule an inch of small fish is less than and inch of big fish when it comes to stocking and as you say the filter is more than enough for the tank, as long as regular water changes were done i'd see no problem with adding a few more danio's. Others may disagree but some of my tanks are technically over stocked but with over filteration and water changes i have no problems. I SAY GO FOR IT
