  12. oh, my tank is 390mm high by 915 long by 380 front to back so it holds like 135 liters i think, plus however much is in the filter (external canister). as for livestock i have a whole load of different tripplefins, about three hermit crabs, loads of dirrerent anemones(sp) some blue with 'white tube' tubeworms, a few sea squirts, and a spider like crab that is kinda flat backed. for filtration i only have an external canister, and an air driven skimmer which seems to take a great deal of skum outa the water, which is realy good cos im sure that it has at least some good efect on the healthyness of the tank. oh yea ill try an get some pics for ya soon if you want .. Newt

Newt..
  15. i set up a nz salt water rockpool tank abt a month ago, and it seems to be going well...so far...lol running on it i have >an ehime extearnal canister filter(with filter wool & crushed shell in a bag as substrate) > >two power heads for circulation > >a wooden air stone driven protien skimmer> > >light - a 'blue moon' fluro and two LED's (striped down $4.99 w-house garden lights) Substrate and rock> >the gravel is just from the baech, and it has a sorta grey+brown mix look to it. >the rock--i collected it from rockpools mainly so that i could get it with groth on it...like the alges an live bugs'n'things. Inhabitants >fish--i currently have a mixture of tripplefins but had a cling fish that came in on a piece of seaweed(to which i was very supprised)+i am on the look out for a crested blenny<-------(cool lil fish) >crustations--in there at the moment there is about three small hermit crabs, and a flat backed spider crab(very interesting)+ a whole load of ghost/glass shrimp. moluscs--a few catseyes and periwinkles, limpets+chittens+a flatworm thing and abt three lil ducks bill sea slugs, and abt three tiny black mussels(jus to see how they go) anomenes-- i have 4 types of them...they are...red with pinkish tenticals, brown, white with orange foot and center, spotted brown...there are also more avalible but they are less comon..or harder to get off sometimes. if you want to find out more abt my trialing of this nz salt, feel free to pm me.. cheers Newtman

    Yummy live food

Thats real cool ira!!, i could not get as nearly as close up as you have i hav white worms in those quantities aswell but not in a culture ........ in the garden  and all i need to do is place a piece of bread on the surface next to my compost (on the dirt so as i dont get all the fruit an grass clippings an veges n stuff) and sprinkle some soil over the bread to stop the birds seeing it then moisten and wait like two days...........and there i have it..... i peal back the bread, scoop up the whiteworms and the soil and make a ball of them then put it down on a icecream container lid and all the worms go into the center....so after like two min i scrape the outer abt two cm of dirt away and am left with a ball of worms abt the size of two eggs put together. the rest of the dirt gets rinsed away by a series of rinsing. THE END...lol.....i thought this could help ppls anyways..
