  1. I just snorted Diet coke through my nose while watching that....
  2. Sensible as in 'not-having-eleven-fish-tanks-of-assorted-sizes-in-my-living-room' sensible...unlike the last time.
  3. Ehoh! Around 3yrs since the last time I was here. Bit of an update, currently halfway through my Honours year at Victoria Uni, doing Economics, hard work, but its all going well. Going to be setting up a small freshwater tank over the next few weeks, time permitting. I'll be keeping it sensible this time, no tanks of 200+ baby bristlenose this time, thankyouverymuch!
  4. Can anyone recommend a removal firm within the Wellington Area that reliably moves fish tanks without mishaps? Cheers Modern Angel
  5. What the record on number of eggs laid by Bronze cory's? I'm looking at about 35 clumps of 20-40 eggs right now..... /sigh
  6. I had 5 Elephant noses in a 6ft tank with plecos of varying types, Clown loaches, Dwarf Gourami's, Danio's, Rummynose Tetras, Bronze Corys, Red Tailed Shark, Hoplo catfish. They can go with lots of different, and were very social, even to the point of ganging up on the red tail shark when it was trying to pick fights with the smallest Elephant nose.
  7. For those in wellington wanting Dandylion & Burdock, there is a shop on Taranaki St(harbour End) and another in the Hutt Near the west gate centre which cater to this very need. In fact if any ex-pats want a taste of home, they can go in there and start crying with joy when they see the sherbert lemons and curly wurly's I won't mention the name of the shop, as that would be blatant advertising but needless to say, you'll be able to spot it very easy if you look for a UK flag..... Open 7 days a week, 10am-5pm weekdays, 10am-4pm sat, 11am-4pm sundays..... Dark and Kevin know the one I'm on about.
  8. Apparently, if its the same stuff which I had in my 6fter, Dark told me about it, its actually tiny shelled creatures(name escapes me) which have algae growing on their shells, iirc the shells are used for very fine filtration, best way to remove them from Glass is with a razor / stanley Knife blade, works a treat. From rock / wood, could try the boiling water, obviously take rock / wood out of tank first...
  9. Panaque Nigrolineatus, can't remember L number off the top of my head... Royal Panaque is a more common name, they get to about a foot long just to warn you...
  10. Can't just say Petshop XXXXX is crap, as the FNZAS and the individual who said it would be quickly sued by said petshop, lets just say there are good and not so good pet shops out there, buyer discretion is advised.
  11. Red Tail Sharks tend to get very territorial with other fish which look the same colour / size / Shape, as (apparently they aren't the brightest of fish...) they think its a rival Red Tail.... Mine harasses my clown loaches until all 5 gang up on it and show it whose in charge...
  12. Clown loaches are recommended in groups of 5+ Stops too much aggro between the fishes and they generally get on and are very sociable. The more the merrier as they say. They should be fine in a 3tf tank, at least for the first 10yrs, they might start to outgrow it at that point....
  13. But who is going to be brave enough to test the theory??
  14. Use normal camera, , and make sure the glass is as clean as you can get it. Getting the fish to sit still is the hard part.....
