  4. hahaha admit it....half of the spelling on here is hilarious!! people phonetically spelling out words is always amusing :bounce: yes some have dyslexia, paranoia, whatever... but most probably didn't listen up in school! you gotta love this language, take a tree; you can cut it down, then cut it up. lol none of those words have wrong letters, they're all just jumbled. they get harder though, in fairness it took me a bit to get "conducted". curiously i read a book on neuro-linguistic programming and that said that good spellers picture the word in their mind, and that is how they remember it, whereas poor spellers (and perhaps people with dyslexia) are unable to do this. it's true for me, i see the word in my head first
  5. and whatta ya know........fry today! haha sweeeeeeet
  6. you know what she means. good on you darni for saying what you did. i'd say there's a case there if they have no helpers to do simple cleaning. if they have time to go on trademe they have time to clean! (re the mucking about on forum topic)

    DISCUS KEEPERS!

praziquantal and metronidazole are definitely two meds you want to have on the shelf if you can. i used to alter my pH with acid in the drum to lower it but ended up not bothering...i swung the other way and actually added a stocking of shell (see pic) to the tank to keep the pH stable, high, and add some minerals to the water for better growth; stability is the key with pH. i'd love to have discus again but work in the fish industry..so getting home and doing more water changes puts me off (elusive ps nitrate is growth inhibiting for discus hence the water changes...just in case you didn't know)..still check out TM to see what's out there regularly tho haha

    DISCUS KEEPERS!

heya, when i had mine i had water at 29, barebottom tanks with plant added in from my seperate tetra/loach community planted tank (looks a lot nicer and more interesting than straight bare), water changed 50% daily (pumped 200L a day from a pre-heated and aerated, therefore dechlorinated, plastic drum), fed colour bits/frozen bloodworm/frozen brineshrimp, daphnia, homemade ox-heart mix, mosquito larvae. morcs- they tend to like a soft flow of water as in the wild they hang around fallen trees and tree roots near the banks of rivers. that said it probably wouldn't bother them much as there's a fair flow in the rainy season
  13. WOW stunning fish!!! great shots. so what's the other pleco?? tell us!
  14. yea but she'd get half his fish too, and if he'd just expanded, he actually loses more fish.. doh! haha
  15. stink mate... what a total low life to go about stealing a fish! this is justifiably why zebra plec owners keep them on the down low.
