  1. love it!!! cheers always wanted some wilds that blue at the end is amazing
  2. this is 120grams vs 907grams people.. i know it's difficult to overdose so perhaps the larger of the two is better?
  3. heya had a look there but can't find this quote? library or post? wanted to check if it was 100% they use.. presume it is..
  4. very interesting.. however the above points appear to contradict each other.. if chlorine is more effective (stronger) in treating water than monochloramine, why would mono hurt your eyes and chlorine not? unless it's that they work differently as opposed to the side effect..
  5. cute but low output. just get a metal hallide already and be done
  6. the aquaclear500 is an awesome filter, i have one of these; it's easier to clean so i'd go with that. general principle with fish husbandry is if it's hard to do you don't do it.. like anything really.. i used to run mine on a discus tank and put a tall coarse sponge over the intake, known as a prefilter, sure needs cleaning often but it's easy and you don't have to clean the sponge inside the filter very often as the prefilter gets most of it
  7. i know the taiwanese love their 'lucky' 8s.. lol.. chinese (and other asians) too perhaps?

    Leeches

visions of "stand by me" with the leech scene.. eek
  9. LOL! henward the male will go over the eggs after the female lays the eggs to fertilise them with his milt. then, if they're good parents, they should both guard the eggs.. try to avoid startling them as this could freak them and out and make them eat the eggs/wrigglers good article phoenix.. incredible!
  10. hey don't quote me man.. hahaha
  11. good point never thought of that
  12. i think maybe sometimes called sparkling black neon? wonderworld in rotorua had this alt variety too
  13. skippy i think you meant "not" green??
  14. haha! wow dude that is AWESOME! you're the clown king. they look wicked zapping about and you got a couple of beefy ones in there too! flourish excel double dose for the black beard algae.. tho be ready to water change if the clowns react badly.. they're pretty sensitive of course..

    Lemon Tetras

don't think you could quite 'know' that for sure.. ?! each to their own.. some like neons, some like cardinals.. kittys and lemons are nice. lemons are very easy to breed.. i remember when they were about $3 each. neons are more striking and (i remember thinking) surprisingly cheaper but i guess that's due to mass breeding overseas.. with lemons the males are the ones with more black on the anal fin. the males look stunning doing their little dance sparring off at each other

    New Discus!

    great discus!
  21. where'd you bruy them from? haha bred these years ago. lyndy/josh, to answer your question, quite hard to tell the difference, but males are slimmer/more straight. spawn in small tank eg 45cm-60cm long, pH ideally slightly acidic (peat will help), put pair in in afternoon and use java moss or marbles etc to catch the eggs and avoid them being eaten.
