  3. adult fish love the frozen adult brine shrimp
  4. it's a fine line. i like browsing around see if something catches my eye. remember many others are like this. so from their perspective if 1 person in 20 wants help then you'd quickly grow tired of trying to press on 19 people who just wanna have a looksee. then again a friendly hi goes a long way too ay and yea dam it's hard to find good women's clothes they never fit me properly
  5. hey stu fantastic info thanks mate.. i actually just read in a book it's best to spawn danios in pairs so that reaffirms that hope this helps malawiman:
  6. sounds weird seeing it say "front back in the tank" lol have any luck? i've packaged something before then realised no address but luckily it was just dry goods so it could wait. it's cos we're male and the first thing to focus on is packaging.....then the next thing is address.. we can't think of BOTH at the same time that's crazy
  7. I understand Ballistic is concerned we will troop in and destruct some of the native flora there. Don't worry B it's straight off the roadside with a few cutty-grass stalks around, nothing major. Actually the environment destructed me somewhat last time....cut fingers from that grass and burnt feet! Yes it is a valid point that mortality was rather high from last time. It would help a lot if people have a tank prepared at home with water of the same temperature and pH as that of the pond and have a bare cycled tank or suitable tank mates to go with them I'm also very keen re the guppies. Interestingly I stopped by on the way down to snowboard during winter and where there had been literally millions there was only a few that could be seen. I later found out they are prolific only in the warmer months
  8. and then they tear your arm off and you're like, "man that was so cool" i thought carpet sharks in auckland were those guys in suits that try to upsell you stuff in their shops eg for cell phones
  9. nice going thanks for sharing good info there. i have also read that doing 50% water changes every day or every other day will increase the amount of fry you get.
  10. hmm what kinda filter you got running? how much water are you changing? i'm thinking either, you have too many fish for the filter to handle or when you cycled it you either did it with a lot less fish than you have now (so it's sort of recyling) or you did it with chemical ammonia but didn't use enough. how long's it been set up? ammo-lock will help and water changes for now
  11. 1watt lighting/litre of water you can't go wrong if you wanna get high tech go metal hallide lighting and/or CO2. light most important, then CO2, then ferts. until i realised you need a lot more lighting than what you think (unless they're low light/hardy plants like java fern) i had plants do this too

    New Clowns

they'll be fine. they do have a pecking order...so they'll just slot in at the bottom. i've got 6... a couple are about 12cm+...love 'em when they get big but small are cute too and usually a bit more colourful.
  13. nice fish hope you get some fry :bounce:

    USB Aquariums

it got shut DOWN..yesss! it appears the seller had no idea about animal welfare...that is very sad. an angel in there? gosh it sounds like aquaone tank boxes showing a school of congos in a 3 ft tank!! think i'll write to them about that. dang commercialism
  15. WOW what a car. The CCXR uses biofuel even
  16. ahhh crafty yea i reckon xmas should be more the sentiment, making something and spending time. and getting something really cool always helps.
  17. sorry to hear. is it possible a rock or anything hit the back pane of glass? sounds like you're sure it's the silicone tho?
  18. do that. tho it would be better if it was 460 deep. they'll be ok. that's an ok breeding tank to get one batch of fry started in. but look at getting a better one later.
  19. na i do what caryl does even tho i'm from a later generation...overall this is the safest way. remember you buy one HP...then two.. next thing you're paying a lot of interest. next thing you got a global recession with a 'credit crunch' when ppl can't pay it back lol. tho you could argue you could make interest by keeping your funds in your account for longer overall it's safer to pay with cash because it stops you spending beyond your means/earnings. don't forget heathcotes, noel leemings etc are rolling in silly ppl's hardearned cash must admit tho, big lures now aye.. 2 years interest free for example. haha great idea! is the present a fish by any chance?
  20. great looking fish, similar to the gold nuggets. goodluck
  21. Sadly the fry will get picked off even if they make it to free swimming on the sides of their parents. They may not get this far though as the fast-swimming fish such as danios and rummynose will freak out the parents. you could put a pair in a 3 foot tank and to help your chance of success put white paper around the outside. (the fry are attracted to dark shapes aka the parents). looks like nice blue cobalts from the pics?
