  1. Be very scared. The gouramis settled down last night but they are doing it again now!!!!!!!!!!!!!     Jude (who is going off to buy a hard hat just in case)
  2. Can it be divided into smaller lots and then frozen or would it then go soggy?
  3. Is there any difference? I notice the goldfish flakes can be bought in large containers far more cheaply than tropical fish food. If there is a difference in quality or nutrients, is it possible to mix some tropical stuff with the goldfish stuff to keep costs down? Cheers Jude
  4. Well, I'm with your kids, I think it looks fun. I saw the glass fish and wanted some too ...........   Cheers Jude

    Good Evening

Hi and welcome. Look forward to hearing more from you in the future Cheers Jude
  6. I'd agree with the others. Lots of water changes - maybe some larger ones at first then perhaps 3 smaller ones a week until the tank recycles. And just add water ager/dechlorinator. The sword may have been sick or vulnerable anyway and the cleaning plus chemicals triggered the disease. Sorry but I don't know enough to diagnose what it is. When I got my first tank and promptly overstocked it, I did 20% water changes every 2-3 days and gradually tapered off to twice weekly, then weekly, and now hardly ever  Hope that helps Cheers Jude

  10. Hi again It wasn't an introduction I posted, but a belated welcome to all those I missed. I've been a bit slack lateley I've been keeping fish for almost a year now and couldn't have done it without all the help and advice I've had here. I have a heavily planted tank with gouramis, gold barbs, corydoras, sae's, bn's and other bits and pieces in it. Looking at setting up another tank soonish (be quiet Caryl!) but the bank balance is a bit sick so it will be a while yet    Cheers Jude There is a picture of my tank in its early stages in the Freshwater Tanks section - called "My L shaped tank" I think

  13. I have assorted plant trimmings to give away. Ambulia and red rotala - I just keep pruning these and planting the prunings. Also some star grass and a little bit of sagitaria. PM me if you want some and I will send my address - all I want is for you to send a stamped addressed envelope - the padded courier ones at Postshops are ideal. I am a bit broke at the moment  or I would cover the postage costs myself. Cheers Jude

  19. I have this loach in my big tank and I have never seen a snail in it despite the fact that I keep planting stuff from my other snail infested tanks. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewto ... 6&start=15 The bottom picture is the Dario and it seems very peaceful, especially compared to the yoyo loach. I posted the pic to get it identified and this is the reply
