OK, I'm happy to give some to all of you. I might consider selling it later but for people in the forums I would rather donate it ................... I "wouldn't be where I am today" if people hadn't done that for me. It might take a few weeks but I will give ballistic some first, billaney next - perhaps next week or the week after, and then I can send some to vjarn. PM me with your address please vjarn It will probably be in 3-4 weeks but the way it is growing it might be earlier Cheers Jude

cool, thats what I want to do, trouble is I am already pulling out lots of it - can see it becoming a daily job. LOL - I know I wanted a heavily planted tank and I expected to have to trim and maintain it ............... but daily weeding? Still, it grows well and looks nice and at least I don't have to go out in the rain Cheers Jude
  7. OK, bbq in the garage seeing it will be May ............. just kidding. I am happy to host it or if anyone else has a bigger place, I am just as happy to go there. Yayyyyy, get to meet Wok and get Indian Fern lol Jude

Has anyone had any experience of this plant? I've only had it a short time and, apart from one tallish bit, the rest seems to be staying at 2-3 inches high. The taller bit is probably about 5 inches high. It spreads like crazy in the tank and I am wondering whether to keep in in check or to let it go wild in there. How much danger is there of it choking out all the other plants if I do that? Larger image here http://photobucket.com/albums/v474/jude ... tarria.jpg Cheers Jude
  9. OK, I am happy to wait until May, thanks Wok Cheers Jude
  10. I saw it happen once, was a terrible sight. This neon almost killed the kid. Mind you, it fell from an 8 story building!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I will order as soon as I hear back from them Mystic - hopefully today or tomorrow Cheers Jude
  12. Sorry Mystic, I don't know. Their email said bunch, but as Alan says, it usually comes as one plant. My guess is that they meant 'plant' Cheers Jude
  13. I agree Alan but all I need is one plant, then I can grow as much as I like from it .......... at least, thats the plan ............. I also asked them if they could source some African fern (Bolbitis heudelotii) for me as I am having no luck getting it down here. Animates promised to order some in but never got back in touch. Keeping my fingers crossed Cheers Jude
  14. They have said yes mystic and the price is $4.80 per plant + almost $10 for overnight courier .......... so the more plants the more economical it will be. How many would you want? Sorry - $4.80 a bunch ......... LOL Cheers Jude

They are gorgeous. Where did you get them from?
  16. LOL Ira I would offer to have it here but as you know, I'd need to take up scuba diving to be able to look after it. And you do have a concrete floor already ................... I'll donate a bag of salt to get you started. Cheers Jude
  17. LOL Caryl, could be too. Maybe we need another one on the opposite side of Wellington to balance things out. Cheers Jude
  18. Thanks for that Staplez - I have emailed them to see if they would send me some. Cheers Jude

    Phillz tanks

Thanks Phillz, I enjoyed looking at the pictures. The native tank looks very interesting, do you plan to add other native fish to it? I like the idea of using the stones and plants from the river - very cool Had you thought of taping some black paper (or another colour) to the back of the tanks to hide the cords? I've done that with 2 of mine and it works well. On one, I covered the black paper with clear bookcovering to make it waterproof and its lasting really well. The 3' tank looks great and will look even better when you get the lighting and plants - how big is that angel? It looks huge. The 2' one might need more plastic plants if you plan to keep the snails in it, and maybe some more gravel on the bottom .......... a different colour    Sorry, I know I wasn't supposed to comment. Cheers Jude

    Tank photos

Hi everyone Just wanted to say thankyou for all the great tank photos in the freshwater photo forum. I am enjoying looking at them and hoping to see more. I've got some great ideas from looking at the pictures and I'm having to stop myself from fiddling with mine - I suspect trying to get it 'just right' could take all my time if I let it    Cheers Jude
  21. Hi Mark and welcome You wanna come to our next bbq? LOL Cheers Jude
  22. Where was the 8, Ira? I get the geonet emails but have only had 3 today - all in Upper Hutt.
  23. The stilts would explain it - lots of movement in those houses I expect. Its also one of the biggest ones I've felt Disney and I really hope I don't get to experience a bigger one.
  24. It wasn't gentle here ......... completely freaked me out. And yes Disney, I am surprised it cracked. Suphew is right, it will be gib board and I guess it could crack easily, I just didn't think the quake was big enough. What is the house made out of? Timber or brick? I'm just curious here, don't know enough to know if that is relevant or not. Suphew, I hope everything is ok when you get home. Cheers Jude
