  1. In the days when i was starting with livebearers and had little tank space, i used to have 30-50 swordtail fry, from multiple females, in a six week period useing the trap method. so it deffinatly is possible, but in saying this i did tend to lose a female or so becuase of stress. Now with more experience i would say to you, plant the tank heavily, feed the fish well, dont stress at all, before you know it, more fish than you know what to do with. Shae
  2. Yup get a breeding net, the lady at the Shop doesnt know what shes talking about, you can never tell how far or close a swordtail is till birth. Generally the female will have her vent open the night before she starts releasing fry, swordtails usually drop in the early morning, should give you a good idea of when to put her in the breeding net. Fry a re big enough to take crushed flake, better foods are microworms and BBS. If you have other bigger fish in the tank i would suggest a plastic floater for the fry. Biggest reason being i have seen Blue ram and Angels litteraly suck the fry through the net and eat them. Shae
  3. You know my situation alan, will be there if i can. Shae
  4. Will do jude, count my mouth in Joze, still gonna bring me a bit of that floating plant you were talkin bout?? Shae

  6. You might want to post an explaination Marine Importer, there no need for an apology if your telling the truth, i think that the accusors should apologies. Shae
  7. Hang on, a mediation should be setup, between all involved, those who are being accused, those who are accusing and those that have made accusations, Do this by the book ay?? Judge and Jurry (lol i cant spell) Shae
  8. I thought you said you were importing pairs?? so that means i will not be the only one?? Once again i am confused?? Shae
  9. They might be on the list, but they are no longer keeped, we lost those species a while back. Shae
  10. From the list you sent me that you said you were importing, we do not have any of those. We only have something like 26 species of killies here in nz. Shae
  11. Bugga he gave me a list of killies he was getting, all of which we dont have here, had my hopes up. that aggrevates me. Shae
  12. You just made yourself very popular with the NZKA club Shae
  13. yeah pack them full of it, a bit of flake aswell, your linys were a good size mate, but you want there bellies a bit fater than that, the fuller the female in the stomach, the more eggs she will be either producing or holding. Shae
  14. Well if the LFS is right then alot of my fish should have died along time ago, i have been feeding my community tank in my room alot of goldfish food, and all my goldfish outside get tropical pellets, that my tropical wont eat. Shae
  15. your fish are still young so check every 3-7 days, when there bigger every day or two is better. Shae
  16. Thats awsome anth, keep feeding them up like you are and you'll get more. Shae
  17. I would have to disagree with perky aswell, although, if yuo do buy them really young, then when they grow you have a excuse to buy bigger tanks, however it seems a shame ot buy such an awsome fish then sell it. I think Puffers is a reall good suggestion, there really cool fish. Shae
  18. heck man, lend them to me and i will breed them for you. but i wouldnt worry, the eggs are not devoloped yet, so your not causeing harm to anything Shae
  19. I dont think there leeches, i agree with Ira, But hey if your gonna get ridda some gravel and driftwood them my hand is up for it. Shae
