  1. The secret for keeping alot of livebearers in the same tank is just that, have alot of livebearers, then majority of the fry is never noticed as the bigger fish are always interested in each other, plus good feeding. If the babies are bigger than the biggest fish in the tanks mouth and as you say there is plant cover then there shouldnt be much problem. Shae
  2. It makes sence Snowman, GBA fry dont respond well to change, too many water changes and to much chemicals would have resulted in an unstable enviroment that would have caused most of the death. I do agree though the cycle is not needed for a cycled tank, However Chlorine is another story. Especially Auckland water. Shae
  3. I was not talking about StressZyme, which adds healthy bacteria to kick off a new Tank, I was talking about DeChlorinaters Alan, And They do deffinatly do more than Nothing. Shae
  4. It all depends on the qaulity and Chlorine content of your tap water, IMO id stay on the safe side and alway treat the water, the only tank i do not use treated water on is my Convict tank, and thats mainly because they seem to e the hardiest fish i have ever owened, and the new cold chlorinated water seems to kick them into breeding mode. Shae
  5. It will be completly submersible, the line there is a giude for you to show you that that much of the heater does not HAVE to be submerged. Its pretty simple to move it diagonally or horisontally, If i were you i would place it horizontally above the gravel, and have something ust infront of it to hide it. Shae
  6. Awsome Pictures Dude. I hope your going to brake out your secret stash of tanks to accomidate whatever amount of males you get. Shae
  7. a sctochbright sponge, make sure its one of the high density ones with no anti-bacterial stuff in it, just plain on coarse sponge, works a treat. Shae
  8. It Seems as if the wellingtonians are taking over the sceen around here, Welcome to the site. Shae
  9. Cant post pics right now, there is deffinatly a slight colour variation in three, one has very strong blue in his face and body, and the other three dont show as much colour, i deffinatly noticed the swishing an flareing of the tail a few times. Shae

  14. Feed more bloodworms, lots of it! you'll get more eggs! Shae
  15. Do small water changes everyday, jst so the water doesnt go bad. What are you feeding the parents? Shae
  16. Put them into a small floater, bowl, cup, something that floates, add a tiny bit of Meth Blu, remove any infertile eggs, if they fungus, wait 12-14days for fry, keep picking ur eggs. Shae
  17. So a small heater and a little sponge filter bubbling away, and small water changes throughout the day would work? Shae
  18. Just wondering, but would you be able to setup a small tank for fry, Barebottom with nothing in it, and just keep turing over new/old water from your Marine setup? Shae
  19. Theres no heater in the tank, and they seem fine, so my answer would be, maybe look at purchaseing a chiller, because unless you can keep these guys cool you might have some problems, I love banded kokapu they are very cool fish and same with the giant kokapu. Shae
  20. Yes everything in that tank is legal, hes made a few spelling mistakes, there banded kokapu and Inanga, not braided kokapu and Iunga. Very cool setup, but must be kepped in the lower 20's otherwsie the fish start to stress. Shae
  21. The problem with the site that HandS has posted, is that alot of those platys are named incorrrectly. Very interesting, i have never seen verticaly stripped Platy. Shae
