  1. Better to get a larger school of them as they are less inclined to upset other fish. Shae
  2. They are Compatible. Especially if the all the fish are brought up together. Casey- Raboras can be nasty work on big beautiful tails, infact they cut down alot of fish you could own, in my opinion not worth having rasboras. Shae
  3. Cheers Craig, i think i want black Acrylic, i have a good dremal, so no issues there. Shae
  4. Remember, there is a wealth of knowlege on the internet. You have only to type into a search engine what you looking on information for. Shae
  5. Do you have another tank to breed and raise fry? if not then there's no point. Shae
  6. Don't get a pleco, there utterly useless compared to other fish that can be purchased for algae clean ups. Algae eaters are good, Bristlenoses like the green algae as long as its not that thick slimy stuff you can pull off in sheets. Dwarf Gourmies also love Algae. Shae
  7. Does anyone know where in wellington you can buy perspex? Shae
  8. Argh took the words right outta my mouth. Ahh well, i suppose it might not be aplicable to you because your from London. Shae
  9. Well where to start........ Mollies=Always Holding Unborn Platy= Almost Always Holding Unborn Black Widow= Females belly with be roundish and protrude from her body, meaning she is carrying eggs Angels= Females will do the same as above BCorys= Females can become absolutly swelled with eggs to the point there fins don't touch the ground. Leapord Danios= Same as Black Widows. None of this is important unless you have a spare tank to rare fry, or don't have any males of the above species in the tank. If you asked how to breed these (other than livebearers) a full and better account of how things worked could be given. Also you should Forget about the louches it is my understanding that #1 they are extremly hard to breed, and #2 Most in NZ are Infertile. Shae
  10. Don't get mollys or Angels. Molly's get rust, and other illnesses really easily if not kept in low salinity water. Angel's are horrible, tempremental, nasty fish. Shae
  11. Its far clearer glass. Shows off true colour. Shae
  12. Casey, I disagree with MRSKz totally. Bettas are infact hassled more by other, even smaller fish, than vice versa. I’ve found every single betta I have kept to be well natured, adds beautiful colour to a tank and will feed from your hand, I find them very friendly, not shy, absolutely wonderful fish. They are not nocturnal; therefore putting them at night in a betta floating house is pointless. Shae
  13. Get a bunch of small gouramie like alan said, they love it and can go in just about all your tanks without issue of other fish. Shae
  14. Kyle, how much do you know about genetics? I agree with Alan, and would advice the other alan to keep your fish separate. Mainly just because the NZKA doesn't want crossbreeding, (even IF there might be a very small chance of it) as the desired result, from someone’s over confidence. Shae
  15. reliable/quiet/qaulity.....anyone use any of these pumps? Shae
  16. This would generally be frowned upon because of cross breeding. As long as your not going to keep any fry that may result then i don't think there are any issues. Shae
  17. G'day Alex, glad to see a small and slow, but constant flow of wellingtonians. can a ryhme or what Shae
  18. Whats your opinions on ViaAqua pumps? Shae
  19. Right, good well ive got the skimmer, pump, lighting and tanks soughted. Cheers for that guys. All i need to do know is get the tanks drilled before there made, ge bulkheads, and figure out what mm Pipeing i need. Shae
  20. Its for marine. I deffinatly want as quiet as possible, as its going to be in the lounge. Cheers for that Craig, what are there LPH? Shae
  21. Cheers Ghost face. So whats a good LPH and pump for that matter for a 100-180l setup. Shae
  22. Just Wondering what the most basic way to make a sump is? How do i go about Figureing what sort of return pump i need, and how to regulate the flow from the sump back to the display tank, without having the sump empty or overflow? Cheers Shae
  23. Betchya if i wanted to i could beat your prices Shae
  24. Kyle, she did say she had three tanks, thus three species she's after. However PENE you’re going to need more tanks to bring up fry. Unless you only want them for Decor, so to speak. Bitaeniatum will breed in there tank, and fry can be brought up with parents. Shae
