  1. Its a rather small pic. Sorry Zoe i didnt realise
  2. Good seems like you've got it sussed. Shae
  3. Personally I find Wet pets far better in all categories, when I’m up there at any rate. In regards to Angels, I have a vendetta against them, so whenever anyone asks me "should I get angels?" the answer from me is always "NO WAY" I think there horrible fish. So in my opinion don’t get angels Shae
  4. 1. false, clean it fortnightly if possible, not completly though, just filter media and gravel bed. 2. keep doing that, give your fish the same bedtime as you 3. Change it every month or so is smart Shae
  5. At the moment, I wouldn’t worry to much about Fertiliser and Co2, the amount of plant is up to you, ive listed some simple plants to keep a grow, some plant when they get big enough can be trimmed and propagated. How much light will your tank get? The amount of light depends on how long the plant survives or how long it takes to grow. Also a finer sort of gravel is best for plant growth. Shae
  6. Sounds like you've got it soughted. Not so clueless after all. Let's hope we can finally add a girl to the teenage members on here. Wow your lucky, I only head to Palmy once every few months, i would love to have wet pets and animates so close by. Shae
  7. A lot of Pet Stores will test your tank water for you for a small fee if you take a flask or container of some kind into them. Otherwise, although it is not really necessary, (personally having gone without test kits for years) you could go and buy the 2 most important test kits, being Ammonia and PH. Shae
  8. Sounds like your doing everything right as far as feeding the Fish themselves go. If you do not already know you should be doing a water change or gravel clean at a minimum once every 2 weeks until the tank is properly stabilised, then it can go longer without to much maintenance. Remember not to over feed. Shae
  9. Okay well first of all welcome to the teenage keepers club 100l you'll find is a nice step up from the small tank you have now. Live plants are always awsome to have, suggested easy to keep plants would be, Java Fern/moss, Ambulia, Cabomba, Indian Fern and Water Sprite. What Wattage heater do you have in your little tank? i would suggest a minimum 100watt heater for your new tank. Also filtration, you'll want a powerhead filter of some kind with an LPH of 300-500, Suggestion a Shark400 or Shark600, there great filters. As for stocking, at the end of the day its up to you, best to keep a beginners tanks slightly less stocked. Bascially in your tank i would suggest 20inches of fish, so figure out the fish sizes, and work from there on how many fish you can keep in your tank. Shae

  11. reptimax- Talk to Misnoma about how much hes spent, and what he's setup. Shae
  12. To my Knowlege your not supposed to put the clip in her mouth, the end is very sharp, and will pierce there flesh very easily. Your supposed to move the fish backwards and forwards while her mouth is open to remove the egg or fry (while in the water). 3inches i s abit small. If it was me rather than stabbing her in the throat, and stressing her like you are. I would leave her be. Shae
  13. I agree with Alan aswell. I too have the sword in question and occasionaly the leaves do die. However it looked nothing like Diverjohns sword picture, as i do have one of those aswell. Shae
  14. Wow. Although I agree that Cees has done alot for the fish community online and in general in New Zealand, i think there's some serious sucking up going on there Shae
  15. Actually they are in the NZKA now. Shae
  16. It depends on your bubbles count, which depeneds on your type of diffuser as to how much/little you can use, for it to be effective etc. Im no expert but i have heard of people, useing a 5kg bottle lasting a year and upwards. Shae
  17. The plants are just reflecting the light onto the smaller particles in the water that havn't settled yet, hense the green effect. Its a fairly new tank. Just give it time. Shae
  18. If theres going to be a list, add me to it
  19. In the first pic, what sort of fry are behind them? Shae
