  2. Tottaly agree, if i ever get disease, i use salt in conjunction with peat. very effective, dont like adding chemicals to a tank. Shae

  11. Betta fry can take BS from free swimming. Forget about Green water. Shae
  12. To my knowlege Apple snails do not live well in cold water. Shae
  13. Seems it takes longer, the further down the north island you go, which makes no sence, considering they where mailed from blehniem. Maybe wellingtons mail system is crap. Shae
  14. Crumble, flake, and small freshwater mussels is what i used to feed mine. Shae
  15. Or you could get clippings off ppl in wellington, like alot of other ppl do. I'd be happy to give you some Glosso to start off yourself kookie. Shae
  16. Ok, your far under the inch of fish per gallon rule of thumb. You could have twice as many fish of same or similar size as your current ones if you wanted to. Thats a nice sized tank. Shae
  17. I find Angels far too tempremental to bother with. Dwarf Cichlids are always a good choice, But apistos and Cockatoo's can be very aggresive, i would tend to steer clear from those. Kribs and Rams are really neat fish and aslong as you have plenty of females to males your fine. Keyholes are awesome cichlids and are very gentle, would be an awesome addition to your tank (if your interested i will be aquiring a few from down south soon, as i have found them very hard to source here in wellington) Do not get Firemouths, they get big and will eat small fish and are ugly regarless of there colouration. Shae
  18. What size (e.g measurements) is the tank. How many of which fish in it do you currently have? Shae
  19. If your after a Carpet plant you cant go wrong with some Glosso. Shae
  20. Yup give them a good scrub then a soak in boiling water. Shae
  21. What size is your tank? and what numbers of each fish do you have/will be adding, what species of cichlid do you want to add? Gouramies are good community peacful fish. But if yur tank is over stocked dont add anymre fish. Shae
