  1. Great photos! The Cacatuoides male looks amazing!
  2. Nice fish, I'm currently trying to breed chocolate australes.
  3. Hi from a fellow Hawkes Bay member
  4. What about painting the back of the tank blue or putting a blue background on the tank?
  5. As above, I'm after a wavemaker for a 350 litre tank.
  6. Thanks again to the Waikato Aquarium Society for putting on a great weekend. The mollys are doing great.
  7. Beautiful, hopefully you find another so you can breed them.
  8. Awesome, what other fish are you going to put in the tank?
  9. +1 to that about the hawkes bay aquarium society. I joined last meeting and it is a great group.
  10. Welcome from a fellow Hawkes bay member. There isn't much choice with pet shops in Hawkes bay so I mostly go to www.hollywoodfishfarm.co.nz.
  11. Nice, I've never seen pleco fry before.
  12. Sorry I was in town. Looks good, the dwarf galaxias could probably comfortably live in 1 x 1.5 feet though. Edit: I see the tank sizes are now up.Thanks
  13. I'd say the bullies need about a 2 footer,Giant bullies 3 foot, the eels 5 foot+ , torrentfish 3 foot? ,dwarf galaxias/ bluegills 1 foot
  14. Okay I'll edit it. I just used all the fish that are already in the database.

  16. Is anyone else going to the molly hunt this month?
  17. I have been told that heart is bad for fish so I want to feed my fish prawns. I've tried every supermarket in Hawkes bay but I can't find any fresh prawns. :dunno: So we bought some frozen prawns that were raw but on the ingredients list it says: Prawns, Salt, Mineral salt and Water glaze. Will this be ok?
  18. I'd say either way would be fine but someone can confirm this.
  19. Thanks for the advice. I bought a hailea chiller instead.
  20. I seek your support in confirming if we can repair 680 L (183 x 61) with silicone. The tank when supplied had a small crack (section of glass came out) in the corner of the front panel as per enclosed photos. My thoughts are if my dad was to fill the corner on the inside of the tank next to the small crack would it be sufficient to stop a very small leak, especially when its in the corner of where the front, side and bottom panels join. Upon closer inspection, it would appear that there is a very small gap (less than .05 mm) between the front panel and the bottom panel as a result of the sliver of glass that has fallen out. Knowing this, would a silicone dam on the inside of the corner be sufficient to stop such a leak in the lower corner of a 680 L tank?
  21. Thanks! I will be using a aqua one nautilus 2700 so I'll just run it through that.
