  1. no i definatly dont want a refugium or a sump it needs to be very minimalistic
  2. http://www.seastravel.com/uae/burjalarab/
  3. im not that familiar with what they actually do or how they are setup so cant really comment
  4. it needs to be totally enclosed and very low maintenance, i was planning on purigen, rowaphos, and a nitrate reducer all in their little compartments after a mechanical filtration of some sort (filter floss :-? ). so that the whole setup only uses three power points one for the pump that provides the circulation and runs the little filter, then the second for the light, and the third for the heater which i might be able to do without as the building's air con keeps the temp stable at about 23 or so, so with the added heat of the pump it might not need it (but i have one to use any way so either way) i thought about a mini skimmer but in the end i dont want another plug running or another thing to worry about during the weekend. a little skimmer would get fiddly as well and make bubbles
  5. im thinking of making a little filter for the nano, im think that a pump pushing water through some pvc with filter material in it. any suggestions
  6. good results, silly livebearers imagine trying to change that many nappies :-?
  7. main filtration is skimmer with live rock, i dont have a sump but i am upgrading and even if i was staying with a tank of the current size i would still have a sump, well worth the effort, its just that when i moved i didnt have the time to set one up. big pain in the but having the skimmer in the same tank, the heater doesnt make too much of a difference but the skimmer :-? get a sump even in the most simple setup dont have a problem with nitrates as i have quite a bit of liverock and only three fish but should really only have two
  8. same thing as the viaaqua tanks, you can use them but they dont make for a very good setup
  9. probably because the stingrays are always nose diving into it
  10. bling bling= lots of money i think it works sort of like gigabytes and megabytes and such. one giga byte = lots of megabytes either that or my gangsta talk isnt as good as i thought
  11. great advertising for the hobby in general, lets people know what they can acheive with a little bling bling
  12. you can definatly do it, source some good quality second had equiptment to save in some areas, and shop around.
  13. skuzza if i find anything really good you can be first in line for a frag.
  14. i agree, we have a desert why not make power in it.

  16. score, bet you where stoked to find that
  17. no worries i still havent seen the tank with the MH let me know when they catch that anemone
  18. now do i go Barebottom  or have a sandbed which gives me a bit more flexability with fish choice ok i just made up my own mind. so what fish should i plan on getting?? im thinking something like a fancy wrasse, in which case the sand bed would help. i dont want a high fish bioload so i want my fish to stand out. n.b i am now making it deeper front to back as my stand can fit in now (sneeky sneeky)
  19. very nice, whered you get it?
  20. the thing is that its a percentage, using percentages works out great for everyone because the percentage changes to suit the size of your tank my 88l % is smaller that your 10000000l tanks %
  21. 20% weekly i great, ive upped my water change routine in the last two months to do it 10-20 weekly and things are looking happier
  22. im pretty sure the aqua one tanks are made out of toughened glass, i would contact the manufaturer to be sure
