well it was great to see the tank in person. i was very surprised at the actual size of the sump room. the tank looks like its starting to mature very well, the gsp are a nice little plauge but a pretty plauge non the less. the acros are looking really good and im sure they will fill the tank nicely once they pack on the beef. great tank, i definatly need a seaswirl after seeing your one in action. (i think all our wifes need to start a support group, Reefers wife's inc)

yeah i visited your skimmer on the way back from holiday up in auckland. not sure how he will fit it all in that sump room. (im sure he will manage with some of his great plumbing)

my LFS might dissagree with that comment about price and quality of stock

thats true as well. hollywood were selling yellow polyps (about 10 of so on a rock) for about 60-70 dollars. insane.

your deltec should perorm really well, i would imagine once its all up and running you shouldnt need to play with it much at all.

no worrie ross, andrew(jimmy) has one very similair to that one and i has have some little babies. best bet is to leave it and let it spread by its self. they do take a while but they look great when they self propagate making a nice mat of ricordia's

yip thats true, but jansens consistantly has a better selection no matter when we go up

i went about 4 months ago and they had about 5 corals (yellow polyps etc) and a very poor selection of fish

at the moment im still getting tuned in so i cant really say how i will end up running it in the end, but running it wet keeps the neck of the skimmer cleaner meaning you have to clean it less. i wouldnt call it innefficient (unless i was trying to sell somehing else that is)

well untill yesterday morning i was nice and clean but then a darn coral decided to spawn and so the tank went milky for about 7 hours. all clean again though. the bio load untill two days ago was one small perc clown and corals.

yep they are nice. now all i need are some nice blues and greens and purples (ricordia's not normal mushies)

one litre out of 500 isnt going to make a marked difference. but some people replace the skimmate with new water (asw or nsw)

i have read that effective skimming is the most effective way of removing DOC from the water. i would reccomend good quality water changes, RO/DI topoff and a good amount of water movement.

ask any well tempered reefer in your area and they should one or two they are willing to part with, give them a few dollars or a frag, and your set.

yip got the money, just waiting for the post shop to open the skimmate in the pic is not bad it could be darker but i find that consistancy acceptable. its still breaking in so i cant give it a final vote yet. the waste collector holds alot more than the collection cup can and i can take the waste collector off while the skimmer still runs and only need to take the neck off unless i need to for maintanence/cleaning

hollywoods is usually such a dissapointment i usually dont bother, especially when i have spent my qouta already (murphys law would have it that they have nice stuff when i go but dont have money)

well your monti is Ok as far as browness, but one of my acros is beating it hands down

whats so funny about stayin in a motel? anway, before i left yesterday i emptied the waste collectr which was almost full of nice dark green skimmate. when i get home i expect ill have to empy it again so almost a litre every ther day. i also find i enjoy opening up the cabinet to look t the new equiptment

while santa is dropping off your tunze mybe he can swing by and put some under my tree as well??
