make sure that the pump is one of the controlable ones

i had a litle tidy up in the tank last night, vacuumed the bottom with a syphon going into a little basket of filter wool in the sump, got a good amount of gunk out of the tank. i also cleaned off the back of the tank wall just because i felt like it, i changed the bulb on my MH so i should have any more problems with that (water quality is alot better now as well)

lol, mine isnt an onyx but has alot more black on than normal (at least i think)

get the corals first that way the tank matures and you fill it up and the fish that you ad later wont hassle them as much. i've read that its not a good idea to add a clam to a tank that already has an angel as its safer to add a angel to the tank with a clam

iv only ever had cyano when i had flat worms -

that is exactly what im saying, you cant judge a skimmer by its colour its all about which can remove the most DOC the fastest

yes but its still dark skimmate, thats why i said its not a good judge of a skimmer.

sorry but in that post you both agree and dissagree, which is it. is it the colour of the skimmate or the quantity of DOC that the skimmer can pull out that makes a good skimmer

well i for one would like to see pics of your setup no matter how messy they might be. still waiting to see joeblogs' tank and many other tanks as well. my tank is still very dissorderly and in no way what i would deem acceptable but i still put up some pics to show people. people are always going to be negative or bash but thats life.

i had a weirpro that i ran as dry as any deltec ive seen. colour of skimmate would be the worst possible judge of a skimmers quality.
