  1. around the back of Brookfield the walk way off Darraghs road, teres a small path off the track that takes you to a pretty little spot full of banded kokopu (and a few others but I haven't had that close a look) plus lotsa plants. Lotsa bullies up at Mclarens park. Eels galore in the local golf course drains, take some bloody meat and they will come to you.
  2. got quite badly injured saving a possum from a roller door when I was in Townsville, the SPCA guy said I was the first Kiwi to ring up about a possum :facepalm:

  4. best cultures I have got came from a bin I used to soak driftwood in with a bit of lawn clippings (clean and spray free) and 3 apple snails, pea soup was a understatement. the key is balancing getting the water dirty enough for everything to start without being a hazard to your fry.

  13. had another customer yesterday with psycho neons, devastating her platies
  14. sounds like she isn't in condition yet, feed her up. plus try a few dither fish to distract him he'll chase after them instead of her. Danios are good for this.
  15. Im liking a bit of rotala I gat called "Rotala macaranda" which isn't :bounce: leaves are long and skinny but still have a red tinge (except in my nano tank where its a vivid green) grows very fast and quite pretty in a 400L (very) low tech planted community.

  18. you can angle your current reflector slightly towards the back to prevent the glare, plus it will make your fish shine out better
  19. baby brineshrimp and infusoria is the key.
