  2. Some salt is ok for the koura if you have to treat. I have has 3g/lt in my 400lt native tank for the last 2 weeks for whitespot (that returned ) and the 2 koura seem ok with it - but do watch them for stress. I would go for the smallest koura you can find, they will feed just fine on scraps of food and the odd bit of pea. PS oh looks nice

  13. About that, sampling period is from 2006 to now (I think). It gives a picture of what the over all stream health is, but year on year graphs would be good. Some where on the Environment Waikato site there is a PDF of sample data, but that is even harder to understand I could walk down and grab a pic for you but you can barely see the bottom from all the silt

  18. Black sand is all the way up the west coast of the north island from ~wanganui to ~kaipra, getting lighter (more silica/rock) the further away from the taranaki bight. Can look good:
