  1. My cf1200 is setup per the instructions: In & Out \\PumpHead// 1 ||Wool 1 ||FineFoam 2 ||CoarseFoam 2 ||Noodles 3 ||CoarseFoam 3 ||BioBalls EmptySpace But I feel that there is a lot of wasted space and was also wondering how others have their filters setup. I was thinking of doing something like: In & Out \\PumpHead// 1 ||Wool 1 ||FineFoam 2 ||Noodles 2 ||Noodles 3 ||Noodles 3 ||CoarseFoam BioBalls (in bottom) or In & Out \\PumpHead// 1 ||Wool 1 ||FineFoam 2 ||Noodles 2 ||Noodles 3 ||Noodles 3 ||FineFoam 3 ||CoarseFoam BioBalls (in bottom)

    If the fish were in a big enough tank (low stocking) then no filter could work, just water changes. The problem with only running a filter for an hour a day is that the bacteria wont establish/survive, and they do all the real work in a filter.
  3. my 1200*600*600 in 10mm tank doesn't have a centre brace, I've always wondered how safe it is. It only has 300 odd lt of water in atm
  4. Sound like a good little outing, cant wait for the pics
  5. The test site is just a datacentre somewhere ie only in large cities.
  6. I'll have to look up the error codes... Errant " in the URL, you trying to hack my server? Could you PM me what you pasted/what steps you did, incase there is an error in my code Edit: I'm guessing that there are ' " ' in the stats that you submitted?

    If you get caught catching them out of season don't call them white bait Have a read of this http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=49106 Legal to keep them, there is a section on here about keeping natives in aquarium, have a good browse through it. They like cooler water ie under 20deg, might be hare to do that up north. My native tank has a fan on it all the time to try and keep it cool. They also like shoaling, and mive very fast so a long tank is best. See here for more of my natives, on Flickr
  8. also what sort of media is in the filter? is it too fine?
  9. For those that want to check their stats have a look at this site, written while I was in the UK so will throw a few errors on our higher SNR, It was also written for adsl2+ so if you are still on adsl it will say you could be faster :roll: http://adsl.tin2tin.net/stats.php?tab=2 If athe auto tool doesn't like your modems stats there is a basic version on the next tab http://adsl.tin2tin.net/stats.php?tab=3 or use tab=4 for an estimated sync for your line length (downstream attenuation). Note when reading the charts that Telecom in NZ use a 12dB SNR
  10. Statistics Downstream Upstream Line Rate 15717 Kbps 972 Kbps Attainable Line Rate 17864 Kbps 976 Kbps Noise Margin 12.9 dB 13.2 dB Line Attenuation 12.0 dB 5.7 dB Output Power 0.0 dBm 12.8 dBm If Telecom were to open up their backend to the ISP that line would be capable of nearly the full 24meg of adsl2+, but they don't :evil: Your through put is way down on what it should be, this could be a Telecom or TC problem. Your sync (Line Rate 15717 Kbps 972 Kbps) is down on what you should be syncing at for a 12db noise margin. This I might be able to help with First off you will want to find the master socket, the first one on the line, normally near-ish to where the line comes in. Test from there if you can... If you have more than one socket make sure that you don't connect them up with telephone extension cable (normally flat), this stuff kills adsl/adsl2+. Inside the master socket you only want wires connected to terminals 2 & 5 (this goes for all sockets on a line) a wire on terminal 3 (or any or the others) can have a drastic impact on a adsl sync. Modern phones don't need a wire on terminal 3, and the adsl filter provides the same function for phones that do. Sky boxes etc need to be filtered, sometimes double filtering. If you can filter all internal wiring at the master socket do that as it is the best way.
  11. http://www-ub.massey.ac.nz/~mboffin/people/mstevens/pdf/McDowall_Stevens_2007.pdf Was an interesting read and stand corrected on the above comment I made
  12. If you can find the line stats (off the modem) like what I and Phantom posted I can tell you if there is any room for improvement on the sync, I cant do about the backhaul from the exchange or your ISP peering. God I miss my UK adsl2+ connection, found an old post:
  13. That is truly pitiful, ping looks low so doesn't look like congestion at first glance. Is that ping stable? I suspect it might be the link betwix the cab and the exchange.
  14. /usr/sbin/adslctl: ADSL driver and PHY status Status: ShowtimeRetrain Reason: 8000 Channel: FAST, Upstream rate = 800 Kbps, Downstream rate = 8128 Kbps Link Power State: L0 Mode: G.DMT Channel: Fast Trellis: ON Line Status: No Defect Training Status: Showtime Down Up SNR (dB): 12.7 13.0 Attn(dB): 29.5 21.0 Pwr(dBm): 19.8 11.9 Max(Kbps): 8256 924 Rate (Kbps): 8128 800 If anyone feels that they could be getting better out of their line post the stats (looks like the above) and I give you a hand to get it running faster if there is room to.
  15. I believe the Tarndale is more closely related to the cran's bully, and is a species in it's own wright.
  16. maybe a female redfin if it is the fish form the pics on page 1?
  17. You are going out at night with a torch? Always the best way to see natives doing what natives do.
  18. Do you feed the fish, over feeding could be adding too many nutrients to the water ending in an algae bloom. Some shade will help slow down the algae, as said above.
  19. But are yours "-Extremely Rare Qualtiy-"?
