early this week, noticed my carpintis texas cichlid had white bits on him. thought it was ick, so put him in wonder tonic with 20% water change daily today i found him on his side in the blue tank so i acclimatised him back to the main tank. now he's acting drunk for the last 6 hours. seriously like he's trashed. sometimes he can hold it together but he's stumbling all over the place. keeps gulping air from the surface. all other fish in the tank are sweet, doing their normal thing.

at the same time, is there anything actually illegal about what they did? current limit on catching eels is 6 per person per day.... police might have trouble finding something to charge them with. i feel name and shame could be best and maybe the only punishment available... anyone find their names yet?

and what we have in nz sold as texas are not true texas they are Herichthys carpintis o0r pearl scale/lowland cichlid - a completely different species. i've never seen a true texas here. have you?

taxidermy fish.. now there's a thought. falcor went in the rubbish bin at the bus stop outside my house. in death, we are nothing but a shell. paying respect to a carcass is not something i find logical.
