You don't see Emperor tetras around so much but I too think they are a beautiful fish. They catch the light so nicely. I like the congos too. Good luck with breeding them.

A club merely provides a place for hobbyists to meet and talk about their hobby. Help each other and swap/sell/buy plants, fish and aquatic equipment etc. Some clubs show their fish but many members do not like to stress their fish by netting them to take to club nights. Other clubs meet in members' homes each month so get to see each member's tanks on site. To become a member you contact your local club, or the club of your choice, and make enquiries. The Canterbury Aquarium & Pnd Soc meet 3rd Wed of the month in the Sydenham Community Centre, 23 Hutcheson St. Sydenham at 7.30pm. Or you can ring their secretary, Linda, 389 3137

Hi, my name is Caryl and I am a recovered addict in full control. We used to have 18 tanks but have managed to control ourselves and are now down to a manageable 3. Oh hang on, forgot to mention the one we had to set up for the barbs. Oh and the one in the spare room as a temporary home for fish passing through the country. The second one in there is currently empty so doesn't count :lol:

Since it is a .com I would assume it is based in the USA so you couldn't buy fish or plants unless you have a quarantine facility

I still say it is a badly designed house though. Too few walls and too many windows make it harder to fit more tanks!

All carbon should be removed from a filter before any medication or treatment!

This site is run by the FNZAS (Federation of NZ Aquatic Societies) which is made up of clubs nationwide. I know of only 2 clubs who do not belong. This is why we always suggest joining a club :lol: We have a chat room here too and you can usually find someone to talk to around 8.30 - 9pm onwards for an hour or 2. Sometimes we even talk about fish! :lol:
